Bullet proof packaging. OEM part replaces 403149. I saw some advertised as "tough plastic". Not this. Heavy gauge (.094) painted steel. perfect fit on my craftsman 46" mower. Had to grind off the old nuts but otherwise easy install under the front lip of the deck. Only fits correctly one way, narrow end towards the chute. No hardware supplied (5/16-18x 3/4 carriage bolt and locking hex nut). Picked up 2 each in SS at Ace for $2.90. Ran it today with my agri fab vac installed. BIG difference. very little blowout from under the deck.

This piece on my riding mower was worn out and this piece made a perfect replacement which was easy to install. Nice heavy duty piece of metal.

Perfect fit. Works great. Amazing what the mower tosses around when this isn't installed, as I found out by running it for a while without till I found this perfect replacement.

Mine caught on a tree root and bent. Made an awful noise when it contacted the blades, I quickly ordered this part and replaced my original. The only issue I had was that the bolt hole did not line up on my cutting box, perhaps because of the other one being bent, so I welded one side to the box instead of a bolt holding it. Works perfectly.

Yes, it's just like the original. Alas, that means it doesn't take long in a big yard (several acres) with trees and roots and such until the part, originally parallel to the ground, gets bent upwards. You'll know when that has happened. The air stream generated by the rotating blade is deflected by the baffle and pushes the grass on the right side forwards. When you come back around for the next pass, you'll see the grass has sprung back up, giving you a less-than-perfect cut.I'd say the real issue is the design of the cutting deck that necessitated the use of the baffle to begin with. Running the mower without the baffle also results in a somewhat higher cut on the right side, though not as bad as with a bent baffle. I think I'll actually try lowering the deck slightly on the right side to compensate and see what happens. In any event, I don't think I'll buy more baffles.So, anyhow, yes, the baffle works and makes for a very smooth cut--until the baffle once again gets bent.=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=Update: Last weekend, I did go ahead and experiment by lowering the right side of the deck by 1/2-inch and leaving the baffle off. The cut was, indeed, smoother. I think I'll leave it this way.

This was a perfect fit for my 2146 Husqvarna which is failing apart in under 13 hours on it :) Just don't buy Husqvarna because the warranty the promise covers NOTHING, if you don't believe me just call and ask them they will NOT even tell you what's covered and what's not covered. mine is on sale for $1000 and NEVER again Husqvarna product!

It appears to be an exact replacement for the original baffle.My baffle was bent when I hung it on a stump.. Since the bent one was scraping the ground I had to stop and remove it before continuing to mow... I wasn't going to replace it but then decided maybe it helps stop the sandblasting effect from eating my mowing deck.. As cheap as it was and I am I decided I'd rather buy the baffle than a new deck..
