Works fine for my 1/2hp very shallow well. Very lite weight I hope it holds up. Plus side is that it wonβt rust.

This BACOENG 1" NPT PVC Foot Valves w/Strainer worked for about a week. Then I had to prime the pump every time I used it. I switched it out for a metal check valve - yes, more expensive by about $18 to $20, but never had any further issues. As the old saying goes "you get what you pay for."

The female pipe threads are not deep enough to properly seal. The male pipe is prevented from being screwed deep enough by the internal parts of the foot valve.
