Nice belt for the price...appears to be as good or better than Gates Dayco etc.

Learned to really like the Bando name. They truly are as good as OEM in my opinion

Yes the ribs are not as wide but it's brand new! Just like how when you get new tires the tread is a lot different than the old, worn out tires, maybe a different pattern altogether. Anyway I was hoping for made in USA but installed in a Subaru so I'll deal with the Japan made part. Those with super shredded belts check pulley alignment. Old belt might've been stretched enough to work and the one is just not as forgiving.I think Bando is high quality, I chose it over Goodyear and dayco options.

Edit: took car to the shop to see what was wrong. Apparently there was something wrong with the crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer that caused the belt to shred. Typically a good brand, I've heard, just bad luck on my end...Had my brother, who is a mechanic, replace the serpentine belt just after the new year...belt shredded today, 2-3 weeks after he put it on! Now my car is in the shop getting a new one put on. I'm so pissed!
