I drilled pilot holes of the proper size, was on low torque, but the screw snapped AT NEARLY FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE. I just ordered $70 worth of micro drill bits and precision guides to try to extract the screw shaft. If that doesn’t work, this cheap screw will have ruined a custom figured maple neck.If you buy this tree, throw away the screws and get some hardened stainless screws from a hardware shop that gets them from a reputable mfr, not soft ones made with weak spots
