If you’re going to use this radio for your tours it’s a good buy. Here in Chicago I’ve used it for 3-4 tours at 8 hours a piece before it died on me. So safe to say you can easily get 2-3 days (8hour days)out of this before you have to charge it.

Works great with my BF UV5R+. Being able to switch out the included rechargeable batteries with other AA's if needed is an added bonus. With my radio set to scan function, I have had it last for about 24 hours before needing to plug it in.

This Baofeng BL-5 extended battery really is a must-have. Not only is your battery life extended, but the HT itself is extended and makes it so much easier to hold the radio. Use the charging station (plugged or unplugged) nearby so you can mount the HT and keep it upright when not clipped to your belt or when you need to be hands-free.

I have had this about 4 months or so and use it often. I use it as the primary battery for my Baofeng radio. I enjoy the extra power and it better suits my large hands. I have had no issues with it. Even with heavy use it holds up on a single charge. If you did not transmit I would think this thing would run for a week or more. All in all a great accessory for your radio.

Large battery. Double the standard capacity. Great for long days of use. Charges up correctly with standard chargers. Adds over an inch to the height of radio when connected and makes little radios look more professional. Good to have. Has its own charging or power jack on side in addition to drop in charger terminals. Means you can charge from a simple power cube .

This was a great purchase. This fits the UV-5R just right. I use my radio heavily and this makes it last all day and then some. One night, after a full 8 hour shift, I left my radio in the car and accidentally left it on, wa40j3000awhen I got back to work the next day, I realized my mistake. I did not have an extra battery so I just used the radio with the low battery. First off, this did NOT fit my UV-5RA radio out of the box. It wouldn't click in, and kept sliding down, which made the radio turn off. I had to file down the latch receiver on the battery and also the base receiver where the bottom of the radio cradles into the battery before I could get it to latch good enough that it won't slide off by itself. It's still not completely secure, and I'm sure I could have returned it, but I read some of the other reviews on here and expected that I may have to make modifications anyway.Now that it stays on the radio, I was able to test out the functionality of the battery.I found that it extends the life of my radio by a factor of 2.5x, and boosts the receive signal. Now chatter that I could barely make out is coming through more clearly and I can understand what people are saying. I'm getting a NA771 antenna to assist with signal boost as well. Hopefully that will be all I need for now with what I do on the radio, which is listen.

The battery fits my Baofeng UV-5R and BF-F9V2+.On the BF it doesn't quite lock in place. I had to stand it up and apply some light pressure to the top of the radio to get a secure click. This is the only reason I have not given it 5 stars.Overall, the build quality is great. It's been working like a champ. I like being able to plug a car charger into it. Although I wouldn't recommend trying to run it while charging. I tried and the battery pack heated up a bit. Fortunately I was just testing so didn't leave it sitting for a long time. While charging I'll just use my spare, stock battery pack.73, KG5AXF
