This 2 pack radio with the additional batteries and additional antennas and all other accessories is a great value. Some great things about the radio:-USB C charging-Belt clip is actually on the radio, NOT on the battery-Easy switch buttons for VFO or Channel mode and same for changing between A or B channels. Dual watch is a plus.-multiple antennas for your specific use case and are tuned correctly-Programming via 5RM is preferred so that you can program aviation bands, (if you use UV-17pro program, I couldn't get the airband programming to write)-TRANSMIT Frequency range is actually 136-174 & 220-260 & 420MHZ-480MHZ, so they just need to update the picture in the listing, but the description is accurate-Reception is great, the Tx Power also meets or exceeds 10W a little (conformed with surecom SWR power meter)-the one key frequency mode is very handy-Speaker is loud-Multiple channels, but no memory banks unfortunatley to scan only certain groups if you wanted-Airband receive is great (I'm a pilot, so this is important to me), just ensure you're in Narrow Band and using a proper antenna!-build quality or robustness is sturdy, buttons feel good in the hand while clickingThe radio is a great value to add to the collection. I will always have one of these handy.

All in all it is a good radio. The kit of accessories it comes with is great for a prepper like me, tested each antenna on TX and rx in uhf and vhf and found the small antenna gives good clear transmission short range and the others seem to hold better LR. The batteries are definitely worth the purchase just themselves as they are indeed the biggest capacity I've received in a kit across 4 different types and brands of radios I've bought. Now for the programming cable... Seems to be common but it works when it wants to, and after I loaded my home/base freq. List using chirp it kept failing unplug replug wiggle etc. Ended up having to mash radio end and computer end at the same time and use nose to hit enter to program correctly lol as far as the radio itself goes.... Honestly, just buy the 5rm plus or the bf-8hp pro. They have way more flexibility of frequencies, better menu construction, and better tx/rx clarity umong my base frequencies and I use basic uhf and vhf frequencies from murs and gmrs lists.

Fabulous unit. It has a bit of a new menu system, which takes a little getting used to, but how can you take away a star for having MORE features? The twin pack is a great bargain and you can immediately have a walkem-talkem partner, so lots of fun - also helps with learning the radio. At this price, and this quality, you definitely cannot go wrong.

I've been a ham since the early 1970's and have owned a lot of HT's that I have spent a lot of money on. This set of Baofeng HTs was a very pleasant surprise. They are rugged, I dropped one intentionally from a height of 5 feet onto a concrete floor, 3 - 4 times and the case got a little scuffed but the radio continued to function perfectly.The receiver is surprisingly sensitive and selective. The output audio is decent, not HiFi quality but perfect for communications. I will say this, the AM reception for the the aviation frequencies isn't great. It doesn't sound like a typical AM receiver, the audio is a bit mushy which only matters if you listen to the aviation band, it matters not in the least for the ham bands. Additionally, the radio is not designed to work with digital repeaters.Programming the radio is simple using the CHIRP software. Changing settings on the HT itself is a little tedious but, it is with most modern HTs. Fortunately CHIRP allows you to adjust the unit's settings as well as the channels.The batteries seem quite robust and have lasted for a number of days just scanning, listening and the occasional conversation.The accessories are nice, the manufacturer's antenna works well but the other antennas included with the package are superior. The base charger is very convenient and they also include plug-in USB chargers.Overall this set is an outstanding value considering how relatively small and lightweight the HTs are.

This radio offers sleek styling that feels good in the hand. It feels more expensive than it is. It has a nice setup that any Baofeng user will immediately be comfortable with. I liked the T/R light set up for some reason. It just looked nice. The textured cross hatched pattern metal on the antenna mount ring was a nice touch as well as was the cross hatch pattern on the back cover.This is a tri band radio... sort of. The transmitter measured 9.3 watts into a 50 ohm non reactive load at 146 mhz, 3.5 at 223 mhz and 7.8 at 446. Into the provided antenna the transmitter measured 10.7 watts at 1.2 swr at 146 mhz, 2.6 watts at 9.0 swr at 223 mhz and 9.4 watts at 1.98 swr at 446 mhz. There were no measurable transmitter harmonics on 223 and 446 but 146 showed a disappointingly strong first harmonic at -25 db, far below FCC specs. Reciever sensitivity was uniform at -130 db for all bands.The manual is typical Baofeng and there are some differences between the manual text and the actual radio but anyone familar with BF radios will figure it out quickly enough. The radio has a nice feature package, everything you would expect on a current generation radio of this type. This radio should work well for the average amateur user.
