I use this to hold my lotion bottle upside down so I can get the last scraps. Keeps it upright without the opening touching the countertop. And it looks pretty as a bonus :)

A couple of years ago I found a stunning emerald and clear glass decor egg. The egg shape naturally means it really doesn't sit well by itself--and it presents an unfortunately enticing object for my cats to push around. Realizing I needed a stand of some kind that did not hinder any of the egg's beauty, I looked at quite a few stands before finding this one. What I liked about it was gold color, which would play off well against the emerald and clear egg, and the minimal amount it would hide any part of the egg. (The egg itself has the appearance of cracks through the inside, making it a stunning work of art.)And this it does extremely well. The stand does not overpower the egg and it does provide a mostly stable base. But as I keep the wider part of the egg in the stand I find it is less than 100% stable. The stand's light weight, much lighter than the egg itself, makes it too easy to accidentally move or even fall over. Thankfully, it appears the egg is knocked on its side for the most part but I have now taken the precaution off having the egg in part of the bookcase rather than on the side table. The cats no longer bother it, and no one, especially me, is putting anything next to it any more. So the egg is secure and the stand does its job well.
