Works great for what it was meant for and also I bought it to try and see if I can use it by clamping it into a BOG deathgrip tripod I have. And it works great for mounting binos or rangefinder.

Bought it for a recent trip to Yellowstone, didn't utilize it as much as I thought we would. For the few times we used it was easy to set-up and use.

I tried Using my binoculars on a ball head tripod mount. Not good. I always drive to where I want to view wild life. So why not use a window mount. Worked great. As one review stated you can get closer in a car. I found this mount to be smooth in pan and elevation. There were times when I wanted to use my tripod. So I got an idea. Why not make a false window? I took a piece of aluminum right angle 2 1/2 x 2 1/2" 3/8" thick and 2 1/2" long. I drilled and tapped it 3/8" to receive my tripod head mounting screw. Then I drilled and tapped a 1/4" beside the 3/8 should I ever need 1/4" mounting treads. I bought this mount 3 years ago, and it has been my favorite. ( CAUTION ) If your vehicle has power windows, take the mount off the window before making and adjustments. Great on hand crank windows. So I have a window mount and a vary good tripod head for the price of one. ( Note ) This mount appears to have 3/8" threads the 3/8" threads you see is a 1/4 x 3/8 adapter. Have a good view.

This is a very well made window mount and I hope I can find a use for it. I bought it to use with a DSLR camera but discovered when it arrived it has a 3/8" mounting screw instead of the 1/4"-20thd needed. The size mounting screw was not disclosed in the description, but should be.

I don't use mine as much as I should, but it works well and is a great idea. A car makes a great blind, wildlife generally pays very little attention to it, and its good protection from wet and cold weather, too. Of course its use is limited to where you can take your vehicle. I use mine mostly with a spotting scope, but its fine with a camera, also. I added a Manfrotto quick release so I can use the mount with anything I normally put on a tripod. It should be noted that its difficult to use with an angled spotting scope.
