About this item

  • Cable: 2 Gauge(1 Positive & 1 Negative); Terminals Lugs : 5/16"; Length: 4FT
  • The battery cable is made of heavy duty 2 gauge wire, the pure copper wires prevent corrosion and allow for more easily soldering, it's also very thick and durable. PVC insulation jacket for resisting abrasion and withstanding the rigors.Heat resistant up to 100°C, rated current: 200A, voltage rating : 600 Volts.
  • The terminals Lugs of battery cable is made of solid copper with a tin plating cover for corrosion protection, and our marine battery cables is with heat shrink tubing that could prevent the terminals coming off.
  • Battery cables are widely used for power applications in cars, trucks, solar, RVs, golf carts, motorcycles, lawn mowers, etc
  • package include:2pcs 4FT battery power cable (1x black and 1x red) .please note removing: remove the negative (black) cable before the positive (red) cable.Installing: install the positive (red) cable first before the negative (black) cable.

This set of battery cables is well constructed, has a neat appearance, & uses good quality materials. I know it's tempting but the urge to buy the copper cable, plated connector lugs, heat shrink tubing & then crimping good connections can quickly fade if DIY cable manufacturing involves more than a couple of cables, say when you are constructing a battery bank for a home solar system. ("Net Metering" promises can turn out to be less helpful for stretching the sun-time energy production benefit than you were expecting). We've all been there or soon will be; keep these cables in mind.

I carefully inspected the cables and found them to be as described and very high quality, very well made.I ordered the 2AWG "2FT with 5/16" Lug" cables. The actual cable length was generous and about 3" longer than specified (27" actual vs 24" or 2 ft). The thick PVC jacket is marked as 2AWG (See photo.)I did not cut it open to inspect the conductors encased in the durable PVC jacket, but the (heavy) weight of the cable is consistent with them being pure copper and not cheap, lightweight aluminum cables with lesser current carrying capacity. The lug terminals are as specified (5/16" diameter) and very securely attached to the cable ends.I am very happy with the quality of these cables. 5 stars.= = = As measured: 2 AWG "2 ft" cables, 5/16 lug holes = = =- Actual length (center of eye to eye): 27" / 68.6cm- Weight: 288g /10.2 oz (each cable)- The cable Outer Diameter (including the PVC jacket): 12mm- Lug hole diameter: 5/16"

I like tinkering with DIY “solar generators”, LiFePo4 batteries, inverters, solar panels and everything that is necessary to connect them. I pick things to review based on my hobby and I try to provide the information that I wish other reviewers would provide. If you are doing your own off grid solution, you know the unmistakable heft of pure copper battery cables. I knew these were the real deal just by the weight of the package. These battery cables are not something I expected from a value seller on Amazon. When I am finished with this five star review, I’m going to put them with my other battery cables and not hesitate to use them in upcoming project! The hydraulically crimped terminals are thick tinned copper. Each end is protected with generously sized heat shrink tubing. The heat shrink is not adhesive lined, marine-grade tubing.I just noticed that the product listing says that these are marine grade. That makes me sad, because I’m going to have to deduct a star from these otherwise flawless cables. The rest of the listing matches labeling on the cable insulation (see photos).I’m still going to use these cables. Hopefully the seller corrects the listing or upgrades the shrink wrap tubing.I put a lot of thought and effort into my reviews. If you find this information useful, I would appreciate a thumbs up.

Pros:- Measured wire diameter is correct for 2 AWG (measured 8.26mm)- High strand count tinned copper wire- Crimp quality very good- Very thick lugs (measured 2.8 mm)- 27-1/4” distance from hole to hole- PVC insulation better than silicone insulation for abrasion resistance- Marked for size and use up to 105 deg CCons:- Less flexible than silicone insulationThese are nice cables. The plated copper lugs are very thick and the hole size measures 8.30mm which is correct for 5/16” lugs. The crimp quality is very good. Heat shrink is applied to the crimp area of the cable. I had to remove the heat shrink and cut back the insulaton to measure the wire bundle diameter, but found it to be correct for 2 AWG wire. I did not find any nicked or broken wires near the lug, which is a good thing.Cable length from hole to hole is 27-1/4” long, and the cable itself is made from high strand count, tin plated copper wire. These are made well, and the wire gauge is correct. Recommended.
