After second stroke, mechanism began hanging up and required shaking, pounding to release. I did use it on several crimp jobs up to 1/O wire and it did the job

Makes crimping a large battery cable easy work. Recommended if you do this often

I use a hydraulic hand crimper and then finish it off with these but that’s really overkill. They work great and should be on all work trucks and tool boxes especially welding rigs. If you don’t use a hydraulic crimper first like I do these will still get the job done and the crimping quality is great and will last a long time. You can’t beat it for the price. I should’ve bought one 15 years ago.

This thing worked great making some 4 gauge cables and then I made some 2 gauge and it worked just as well. Nice and heavy, makes for easy use.

I was hesitant to purchase a crimping tool as I has always purchase wires for my electrical systems that were pre-built. I wasted a lot of money with wires that were too long. This crimper changed everything! I built my new solar system for the camper recently.During the build, I cut custom wire lengths, added just the right size connectors, and used this great tool to crimp my connectors. Great crimp every time! This opened up my world of creativity and budget control! I saved wire and money! The crimper has already paid for itself! And, my electrical system has never been more efficient with shorter runs leading to less loss.

I haven't made many lug connections yet, but the one I did complete a 2 gauge wire crimp and it came out great. I tried to pull the connector off and it would not budge. I saw a video where a person cross sectioned cut this type of crimp and there was little to no air gaps from the compression crimp. It's cheap, easy to use, and very effective. Note that you do have to hit the ram with sufficient force. This could be an issue if trying to crimp on a vehicle or boat.
