The grip works on my D7200 as far as the shutter button is concerned. The joystick button to move the focus point is iffy at best. The worst part is the battery that is included; it does not communicate correctly with the camera. It reports 100%, 0 shots taken at all times. My camera died in the middle of a session and it did not automatically switch to the camera body battery because the battery was reporting 100%. I purchased two of these for two different D7200's and both batteries act the same. When I replaced the included batteries with EN-EL15B batteries, they communicated correctly with the camera. The batteries that were included in the bundle are marked EN-EL15 (with no letter addendum).

...and the bonus was that I got the nice little remote with it! It came in handy since I was taking pictures of the moon and it made it easy to trigger the shutter... I could have used the built in camera timer but the little remote is more convenient : )It was very easy to install an extra batter and attach the the camera and I love that it has the shutter release and main and secondary menu selection wheels on it for using the camera in portrait orientation... I am an amature photographer so not sure if it's sturdy enough to be used by a professional since I haven't really had it long enough to give an opinion on it's "robustness in the field"... : )

You get what you pay for I guess. I bought this for my D7200 and none of the buttons work except the shutter button. I assume the battery works but it does not show any status. The manual tells you how to plug it in and that's about it.

Review:This came quickly from the seller, the battery pack works perfectly for the money it's 'almost' a steal. If you don't have another battery, a bundle with a battery is a must. All the buttons work perfectly, and communication between the battery grip and camera is flawless. My only complaint would be a rubber cover, there is an extremely odd design "flaw" with this that would allow water or particulates to get inside the grip. This last thing can be serious for some people depending on if you want a quality/reliable grip that performs just as good as the original.Pros:- The Plastic seems solid- All buttons work perfect- Does its' job as advertisedCons:- Odd design flaw may allow water or particulates from entering the grip, which could seriously hinder performance if this is placed in inclement weather or dry dusty environments.
