Your cart is empty.The NEW Red T-Handle design will give you a much easier-to-use installation tool. It’s wider and is slightly longer than the previous Black installation tool. It will give you better leverage to tap the replacement Brass Inserts (H-D Part# 16585-96) into the inner fairing. The factory press-in inserts pulling out or spinning is not an uncommon occurrence and quite often needs replacing at one time or another. Easy enough to use on the road in an emergency situation. If your windshield starts shaking that’s a good sign something is loose. A screw is loose or the Brass Insert is striped or spinning in the fairing. In the 1996-2016 year models, there are several used internally for brackets and various other applications. These are NOT inserts used for woodworking. These brass inserts can NOT be bought at a home-fix-it store. Detailed instructions are included for the use of the install tool.

I just used this on my 2015 Ultra Classic, worked great. Installed in seconds. The middle top screw in the 2015 is longer than the left side and right side screws, with a metal, hollow insert the screw goes in, so I didn’t know if these brass inserts would fit the middle insert hole, but they fit perfectly. This was a great product that worked as advertised. Harley has no part number/part for anything that will replace the factory insert fastener. Without this product I would have needed a new vent assembly for $92.00. Thanks for this product!

it worked on my 2012 HD FLHTCU. Easy swap and easy to figure out without much thought. I am not too sure what else to say. Oh, yeah I know what. Do not put " avoid highways" on your GPS when traveling in West Virginia on a motorcycle. You MIGHT end up on a awesome windy side road that is peaceful, quiet and tranquil.________________________________________OR_________________________________you might end up traveling that awesome tranquil road, it goes narrower and narrower with each passing minute until the asphalt turns to a gravel road, and that gravel road turns into a goat trail. That goat trail MAY be so bumpy that the windshield mount ( like the one I just bought here) breaks and you have a floppy windshield for the remainder of your trip. AND.. your best friend, who you were with, will constantly pick on you BC you were running point, down a nice windy country road,,,, that led to a goat trail,:) ( 15 miles to go back)

I had one of the brass inserts inside my fairing on my Ultraclassic Touring Harley Davidson that had gotten cross-threaded and had stripped out. I purchased this kit and used it to remove the old insert then re-tap new threads for the new insert. Easy as pie to do and worked like a champ ! 👍

This works excellent. Very easy to use with just a little common sense....the instructions leave a bit to be desired but the installation tool works great if you just take your time and seat the inserts straight. It tightened up my windshield perfectly!!!

easy to use, and so far has performed as promised, I would buy this again, hopefully for a different bike.
