I love how it quickly hardboiled eggs. The first time I used it, I followed instructions by filling up the cup to the line according to how many eggs I was using (3). Unfortunately, it was not enough water. When they were done, there were brown spots on the steel heating element. Luckily, I was able to get them off with a brillo pad and a little bit of water. I did not immerse it with water. I just kept wiping it with damp paper towels. There are some white spots on there still but I can live with that. I just have to remember to add a little extra water the next time. Otherwise, the eggs came out perfectly and it was so easy to use! I'll never hardboil eggs using a pot on the stove again! Two thumbs up and five straight stars!!!!

Get one, this is the best egg cooker ever! I don't pierce the eggs I cook...so have no use for the sharp pin located in the Center. I find the eggs always turn out perfect, no matter if I choose hard or soft boiled....it's great . I bought one for work, home and my daughters.

The best way to cook eggs exactly the same way, every single time. Before this puppy, my medium cooked eggs were too inconsistent. Either too cooked (hard boiled) or not cooked enough and fall apart when peeling the shell. Now it feels like I get my full money out of every egg and each egg turns out the same time after time as long as I buy the same sized eggs. It's not hard to clean up either, but you learn to live with a little water deposits on the base. I use a wire brush to clear that up, but it never really goes away. I've used the veggie tray to cook vegetables and they've turned out mostly overcooked. Need to do more experiments on the exact amount of water to use. Some other egg cookers feature omelette trays, but I'm not sure I would use it as cleanup of egg trays is not my favourite job. Shelling eggs is much easier than cleaning afterwards.Since this uses so much less water than I would use to boil eggs, it saves a lot of energy. Some people complained that there is no on/off switch. That's correct, but I don't think it needs one. I always unplug it and bring it over to the sink to rinse anyway. It makes a convenient tray to bring the eggs over to rinse with cold water.Overall, definitely a good buy and a good value.

St footprint on kitchen counter (a real plus!). Works very well, cooks eggs precisely as I want them. Takes very little water. There is no automatic shut off switch, but one would not be able to use that feature anyway, as one has to quickly run the eggs under cold water to prevent overcooking. The end of cooking cycle buzzer serves that purpose- . Delivery was SUPER FAST!!! Would definitely buy this item again

Would have given 5 stars if it had auto switch off function (though they mention it has!!!!!)...! Else its awesome..! gets the work done.. perfectly boiled eggs, easy to peel. its almost 3 weeks now since i bought it and almost daily at least i am having eggs just because of this! before that i was super lazy. One more thing it leaves black marks on the bottom tray as the water evaporates..

It only took a few tries to get the eggs just the way we like them. My wife likes the eggs steamed to a 5 on the top scale, I like a 5 on the medium scale. I am embarrassed to say it, but our dogs like theirs at a 6 on the medium scale. The package contains the steamer base, the 7-egg holder and the cover which you would use for cooking an egg in a shell. Additionally, there is the four-egg poacher, and finally the steamer plate (we have not used this). The process is very simple and just takes a bit of experimenting. Measure water to one of the graduated lines on the measuring cup, put the egg base on, take up to seven eggs from the refrigerator, puncture them with the needle in the egg-plate then place them hole side up, install the cover, plug it in and wait for the buzzing noise when they are done. Sounds like a lot of work, but I can accomplish all those steps for four eggs in less than 30 seconds. When the buzzer sounds, very quickly get the eggs under cold water to stop the cooking process. I usually give them about 25-35 seconds before I set them off to the side. You can cool longer if you don't like them still warm inside. Peel them warm and they are very easy to clean off.We have used both farmers market fresh eggs and also Eggland's Best lower cholesterol eggs. Both worked equally well. We have found that 4-7 eggs takes a bit less water. We noticed that it takes about the same amount of time to get done. I assume this is due to the larger condensation surface allowing the water to be recycled more times.Cleanup is fairly easy. I use stainless steel immediately after cooking to remove as much of any egg residue that has gotten onto the heater. The nearly flat surface makes this another quick task.We have also used the poacher. Make sure you spray it before use with a cooking spray. I give the tray a quick wipe with a paper towel to spread the cooking oil around and remove the excess. I put 1/4 teaspoon water in the bottom of each cup, then break an egg into it. Farmer's market eggs were too large for the cups, but regular extra-large eggs work fine. For these, I have not mastered the measuring cup. I have just gotten used to putting in a full measuring cup and then periodically checking for the eggs being done.Sorry for the long review, but my wife and I are surprised at how much we love this egg cooker. We got one for ourselves. Within a week, we got 3 more and gave to friends. Many of our family members should expect one for Christmas.

I purchased this product because I can NEVER get the eggs boiled right. I am very happy with this product. My first time I measured wrong for the water but it was very close to being hard boiled so no issues.FOR THE RECORD I used Large Eggs and it worked fine. I always buy large eggs and have had no problems with them coming out hard boiled every time.I had read earlier in the Amazon reviews that someone was dissatisfied that it continually buzzes until you unplug it. I'm hear to say that is true. I must say that if you don't listen to that buzzer and let it go it will in fact keep heating your eggs and once the water is gone you'll burn them and the plate that hold the water. So, to the person that was complaining about the buzzing (which is tolerable for the sound, and is no where near the volumn that our fire alarm has), it's there for a reason. Otherwise you will ruin this machine and your eggs if you don't unplug it shortly afte your buzzer sounds. I haven't ruined mine but I did not hear the buzzer because I was 2 rooms away (left it to do it's business while I worked on something else) and finally heard it and unplugged it. No issues but I'm guessing it had been going off for about 3-4 minutes after it was done... Ooops! My plate turned brown in spots where the water had boiled off.I haven't noticed any discoloration in my eggs. As long as you follow the directions as they say, you should have a perfect egg each time. BTW I only use this for hard boiled. I'm not a poacher. :0)
