Trusting this to go on my Ranger Raptor, not official but my vehicle uses the same plastic yellow oil plug. This is about $10 cheaper than the competition, not sure the difference in quality how it would get better. The milling and machining seem very clean and exact, the action of the threads smooth and really tight. There is a very strong magnet on the end too, the only thing was the compression ring appeared to be stainless but was magnetic. I know there is magnetic stainless just not sure on corrosion properties. Either way, here we go, will update after a week or so of use.

I got this because one of my pet peeves is getting oil all over the place when I do an oil change. With this oil change drain plug, now that it's installed, in the future I can put a small hose on the end of it, open the valve, and the oil will go into the pan or wherever I put the end of the hose - instead of gushing out and getting all over the front undersides of the truck. I'm impressed by the finishing - it looks like a quality product, and installing it is no different really than replacing the plastic plug... for the last time! This is not exactly a cheap product but I believe you are getting what you pay for, and you'll be glad you have it every time you change your oil. From now on, it's neat oil changes for me and my F150.

This is five stars if you change your own oil, or if you have faith in whoever does change your oil. I would not recommend it for someone who normally takes their vehicle to places like Jiffy Lube for oil changes. It requires some explanation if you are not familiar with the oil change process of vehicles that could use this plug (my vehicle is a Bronco with 2.7L V6).From the factory, the Bronco has a yellow plastic oil drain plug. The manual says you should replace it with a new plastic plug every other oil change. This aluminum plug takes the place of the yellow plug and works differently. The yellow plug entirely comes out while you drain the oil. This aluminum plug has two parts. One part, that I will refer to as the base, stays in the pan semi-permanently (can be removed but typically is never removed). The other part, called the drain key, is inserted into the base for oil changes. You remove a cap from the base, then add the drain key. The key has a knob that you tighten once it is in the base. Oil drains when it is tightened enough. So, you can get the key and a drain tube ready, then put the key in the base, drain the oil, remove the key, and put the cap back on the base.If you change your own oil, you can store the key with your other oil change tools. But if you take your vehicle to a Jiffy Lube or similar, the oil will no longer be changed the way the manual says. The technician could remove the entire plug, discard it, and replace it with a plastic plug, or they may refuse to change the oil. Or they may have dealt with similar things and know exactly what to do, it's hard to say for sure. It may depend on the individual and your conversation with them.So in the context of someone who changes their own oil: This has two main advantages. One is that you rarely if ever will need to replace it, unlike the OE-style plastic yellow plugs. The other is that it can connect to a drain tube. Due to the location and angle of the plug, this is very beneficial for controlling where the oil goes, because unlike in many vehicles where the drain plug is at the low point of the oil pan, the Bronco drain plug is angled on the side of the pan. The oil flow arcs out to the side if you don't use a tube. You should know from reading this whether you are the target market for this or not. If you are, I recommend it. The plug feels well-made. The instructions have some strange wording (not written by a native English speaker) but you can follow them well enough. The instructions do include helpful pictures to illustrate what the text says.

Does not fir true for a 2018 Ford F150 5.0. Drained oil, installed new drain plug and was leaking oil. Followed the few lines of instructions, verified fitment but caused oil to leak out from the pan side. The plug fit very sloppy in the hole. Put old oil plug in and sealed right up. DO NOT RECOMMEND! SENT BACK FOR REFUND.

Product was a waste of money and time. Did an oil change and installed this product, a few days later I checked how it was holding up and it was slowly dripping oil from it.
