I have about 170k miles on my F250 and the shifts have always been rough. They got significantly worse recently which prompted me to want to do fluid/filter. I figured if I'm already spending a large amount of money on ATF (Royal Purple), I might as well give this a shot too. The improvement was instant, the truck shifts smoother than it ever has before and downshifts without lurching like it previously did. I can't recommend this enough.

We have 312k on a 2011 F250. We had hard sloppy shifts in the second third and fourth. Fluid was pretty dark, so we changed the filter, the solenoid was installed, and 13 quarts of Amsoil transmission fluid later, the truck shift, firm, but smooth. I’m confident when towing now that it will hold up.

Wasn’t too sure with all the yes and no reviews. For my application and transmission issues, this seemed to do the trick. No more sloppy upshifts and harsh downshifts. I have 127k on the clock and was fearful a trans rebuild was in near future. Now I may have bought more time with an inexpensive repair vs rebuild.

Found this when looking for info on my 2012 f250. I was planing to change my ATF since it was due and thought I would go ahead and try this device to increase my transmission line pressure. I monitored line pressure before and it was always between 60 and 180...after installing this device its still the same, 60-180. I't not worth my time and money to drop the pan and remove this thing for a refund. It would cost me $70 in atf fluid and an hour of my time to return it. Lesson learned and warning to anyone looking at this...it does nothing that I can see.,

So far it works well. I installed when I had to do a trans filter flush. Shifts noticeably better. Truck is mostly stock. The install is easy, if you’re already doing a trans filter change / flush. Otherwise I’d hold off until then.

I bought this and kept it until it was time for the transmission filter/fluid change. Install time took about 40 mins from start to finish. As I said in the title it doesn’t make a massive difference but you can definitely feel it. The shift between 2 & 3 under heavy acceleration is definitely smoother and not as hard. The other thing I notice is the jerk I would feel when the truck downshifts from 2nd to 1st coasting to a red light is gone now.

TO BE FAIR, I haven't actually hooked my scan tool up to my truck and driving around recording line pressure data. More over, I don't think I had done that before, I looked at it to make sure my pump wasn't the failure in my trans. Spoiler alert, it wasn't. But I never really recorded the data, pre or post install, which included other much needed repairs to the internals. I bought it cause I bought the sales pitch, I know there are variable solenoids, but really it's an on/off switch. I searched and searched to find information that would tell me HOW an on/off switch is supposed to up my line pressure, couldn't find any. My trans is working just fine now, and I'm not completely sure if that's from my work or the solenoid. Would I buy it again, probably not.

Straight forward and painless install, though it didn’t provide the shift firmness that I expected based on other customer claims. Not 100% sold that it was worth the time or money to do.
