I purchased this tool because I lost my old one. I was thinking about getting a different size grommet die to go on the one that I lost. But it turns out I needed to buy a new one. I like this one better than my old one. It is nice that it comes with three different size dies. It does a very good job on different material. Definitely worth the money and nice that it is versatile with three sizes.

This item works as described. I ordered it to put grommets at the bottom of the curtains on our patio. The item is easy to use and doesn't require anything else before crimping the grommets onto the fabric.

I work for my congressman putting up campaign signs and this tool is absolutely the best and fastest way to install the grommets to hang the signs I have ever seen or used. Saves me a ton of time.

First of all, it works great. Load the grommet and washer and squeeze the handle. Punches hole and affixes grommet.BUT...in order for this tool to work so well, the tool is magnetized so it holds the grommet parts in place. That means the grommets are FERROUS (i.e. contain iron and can/will rust). I tried using brass grommets and its easier using a manual punch than to use this. You need one hand to hold the grommet parts, another hand to hold the material in place, and yet ANOTHER hand to operate the tool.Since I am only using this for custom-sized field expedient tarps, it fits the need perfectly. So keep in mind you will have to use STEEL/IRON grommets, not brass or stainless steel.

I used this tool to repair a poly Shelterlogic enclosed carport/tent. The carport took some damage during a particularly windy storm. Quite a few of the eyelets tore out of the sides and top. This tool worked great to add a bunch of new eyelets and reinforce everything rather than having to replace all of the sides and top. Automatically punches holes when the rivet is installed. Highly recommend.

This tool is super sturdy. Well built and feels solid. However, my problem with it is that the 12mm grommets - that you put over the cylindrical bit - the tool doesn't open enough to get them in easily..I can spend ages faffing around, made *worse* by the fact that it's magnetic, trying to place the grommet cylinder over the tool bit - Since the pliers hardly open, it catches on the tool, and I have to squeeze and slide and *eventually* it goes over, at which point it's fine.It would be *much* better if the jaws opened further to allow grommet placement without it catching or having to force it over the holder.
