I ordered 2 of these based on the reviews stating some didn't work right out of the box. I guess I have a spare now, since the first one works fine.I tested function prior to install. Hooked it to the harness and heated it using a small butane torch. Stage one kicked in at about 220°F, and stage 2 very soon after. Both shut down as the sensor cooled.As other brands have failed on me twice in the past 3 years, I don't expect these to last long either. Given that I paid $40 for one, the only drawback I see is that I can't just pull an old one and walk into the parts store for warranty replacement. That's a good reason to buy 2 as I did.

I am an ASE Certified Master Technician. I purchased two of these switches and both were defective. The low speed contacts would not open on the first switch that I purchased. The low speed contacts would not close on the second switch. Very disappointing Quality for Beck Arnley. I'm going with a Hella switch instead.

It would have worked if I bought for the right year of model. This would work for vehicle whose harness has 3 pins which is for a 2 speed fan. Mine has 2 pins and a single speed fan. Otherwise it did hook up. I'm sure it would work. But I jus returned it. Good return policy

For a 944. Bought a 30mm or 1-1/8 long socket with this and I was able to change it easily without pulling out the rad or fan.

Bought as a replacement. Works and fits as it should. Be aware that if you are replacing this on a 1995-1996 Audi, you will need a deep, thin walled socket. Part store should have a loaner..
