I was a little worried because we have a box spring on a steel frame with just a head board, but with a few tweaks we got it to work and we are pleased! The assembling sucked and took longer than expected, but after was all said and done it was well worth it!!Update: have had it a little bit now, and although it serves its purpose I’m a little disappointed in the quality now. One of the bars has started to bow from when we sit on the side of the bed or get in and out….dropping to 3 stars :(

This product is working so far. It is able to keep my 18 month old safe in bed. I don't have to worry about her falling off the bed and I can doze off without having to make sure that she falls asleep first. I am giving it a 4 star because the product needs extra stability. It also may require a lot of grunt work to get the railings stabilized, however, once finished, it's quite convenient and useful. This fits our queen size bed perfectly. The product arrived with all the pieces necessary, however, the instructions included are not very useful and lacking. Straps can be used to stabilize the railings but we did not use them, instead, we bought wood planks that ran along the width of the bed at the foot and top of the bed. That's where we screwed the railings. And then you put your mattress on top of all that. It really makes sure that the railing don't go anywhere or moved somehow. This is recommended if you are willing to put in the extra work.

I do not typically review very many purchases on Amazon. Unfortunately, I just do not regularly have the time. However, when it came to Goldenvaluable's Bed Rail Guard and Goldenvaluable's Installation Straps (sold separately; I will post this review on there as well), I felt I had little choice but to warn other parents. This item is DANGEROUS. It is poorly designed, comes with inadequate installation instructions, and fails to provide the safety and security it claims it will provide. What I find most infuriating about this product is that it is represented as a child safety product when it very clearly puts children at risk. Without having to go into substantial detail, please know the following:1. The product is poorly engineered, resulting in very little stability when installed.2. The manufacturer provides simplistic and incomplete instructions, particularly in regard to installation on mattresses with box springs.3. The manufacturer and seller require you to buy an additional kit of 3 straps for installations on box springs.4. The additional kit required for box spring installation includes no instructions at all.5. When contacted with a request for installation instructions, the seller provided a non-working YouTube link to what they claimed was a similar product. As the link did not work, this could not be verified.6. My child slipped through the gate and mattress and became stuck and terrified.Needless to say, I will be returning this product.

Perfect with our 19 month old that likes to roll all over the bed. We have a heavy mattress and this did not work without screwing it into the box springs. This is not something i would use with a co sleeping infant and feel comfortable in doing. There's still room for them to fall down between the mattress and panel. We've used it since he was maybe 15 months old. He could sit, stand, roll, walk without issues. At 15 months even if he got down his head isn't down beside the mattress. An infant however would be. After about 8 to 10 months i doubt they would fit. He doesn't co sleep every night. I work 3rds so it's mostly on weekends or if he wakes in the middle of the night with my husband. There's peace of mind knowing he won't roll out in the floor. It would be perfect for a toddler transition to bed from a crib as well.

Best decision we’ve made. Our son hated the crib/bassinet/pack n play to sleep in. Instead of buying a toddler bed where there’s no way he’d stay in it, we bought these rails for a queen size bed that was already up. It worked out great! He loves his (very) big boy bed and sleeps significantly better. I’ve heard so many stories of how people used to sleep on their kids floor or cram into their tiny beds until the child falls asleep. We lay with our son comfortably until he falls asleep and then can easily slip out when it’s time. Appears very sturdy this far. Great product!

Best baby item we have purchased yet! Absolutely worth every bit of the money paid for it. Hubby had to rig it to go on our bed (no box spring) and he zip tied and stapled it to the wall/headboard because we're super cautious. We only used two rails because our bed is against the wall. I live that my king size bed is a giant playpen. We co-sleep with our 13 month old... Not looking for a lecture it works for us. This has been a life saver investment! Very secure, sturdy and well built. Only complaint is the doohickeys that join the corners pop off when I'm climbing over sometimes but it's easy to pop back on.

I used two planks of wood, 1" thick 12" wide by 60" long for a queen sized bed installation (couldn't feel them under our thick mattress) with 1" screws. Works fine. Secured at top to the headboard with straps that came with rails. We also got bumpers to put around the rails on the bottom. Very happy with this. We now do not worry about him rolling off the bed. The bags on the side we use for diapers and wipes. Would recommend this if your baby spends time in bed with mommy as our does. Also, rails sliding up and down is way to go. Kind of hard to get out of the bed with rail down as you have to kind of roll over it, but no problem Wish I had done this sooner. Quality is good, although it was a bit of a challenge to get it together and then install it (had to lift mattress out, assembled it in room is was going in (otherwise wouldn't have fit through the door, then lift mattress over the recessed sides. All said and done, we love it. No issues so far. Would recommend. Seller good also. Was missing some of the straps and they shipped promptly.
