About this item

  • BedClaw™ Anti-Wobble Bed Rail Shims are designed for use with hook-on bed rails and bed frames.
  • They are ideal for use with wooden beds, because they allow you to "snug up" the frame and prevent wobbling, shaking, squeaks, and damage to hook connectors from excess movement.
  • You place these between your bed and the bed rails, placing the hook connector through the slot in the shim, then simply connect your bed back together as you normally would.
  • By definition, a shim is a thin strip of material used to align parts, make them fit, or reduce wear. In some cases, more than one shim may be needed to completely fill in a gap in your bed frame.

Product Description

shims close up

Up to 5/8" of spacing

Each Set of 6 Shims can fill up approximately 5/8" of space. Remember to alternate stacking, not just uniform, to greater the space you're needing to fill between your bed frame and headboard or footboard.

After an extensive search on how to shim a bed frame that's been in my family for 3 generations, I found these. They worked much better than I had hoped for. No regrets

Not perfectly solid, but did minimize the wobbliness of my four poster headboard and footboard. I did need to use 2 on the footboard, which wobbled worse. I've tried a lot of things and this works best. Not perfect, but better.

It works as described. I will buy them again as needed.

Buying this little kit took care of the rocking and cracking noises from my bed. I no longer need a new bed frame. It is like new now.

I had a really old bed frame with metal hooks that dug into the wood on the headboard/footboard. My bed was squeaky and wobbly since the wood and the metal did not form a very snug fit. I put one of these on each joint and it fixed the problem. The wood and the metal are very snug and the squeak has disappeared. It is nice that they include 6 since you can double up on one of your joints if you need it.

These might work for some situation, but they did not work at all for ours. Both our antique mahogany bed and our antique oak bed still have the same problem of bowing inward at the headboard and footboard despite the addition of the shims. Disappointing.

Fairly easy to install. Did not help at all with my bed.
