Converts our 5hp harbor freight air compressor from 3/4 npt to 1/2 npt of more manageable size. Just ground a flat to use a crescent wrench and worked great.

Always like s/s fittings they are my go to for underground water piping. I know some people used galvanized pipe but if you want something that will outlast any thing and give you a secure and and leak proof connection S/S is the way to go. Galvanized pipe has a chemical reation to some soils if there are high PH and acidic, which will cause them to break down fast but S/S will not.
