I had a Fredenstein Bento 2 Pure Analog that I was using to run this unit and it could not adequately power it and created a weird flickering sound. 1073 series preamps tend to be power hungry from what I’ve read. I switched to a Heritage Audio OST-4 and this unit works great and sounds awesome on vocals, acoustic, and bass guitar. It’s an excellent gateway into using 500 series equipment as long as your chassis is powerful enough.
