The main functions of car battery tester include: battery test, cranking test, charge test and maximum load test.
- Battery test is to analyze the health of the battery, and to provide a reliable analysis basis for battery testing and maintenance.
- Cranking test is mainly to detect the starter motor. By testing the actual starting current and starting voltage required by the starting motor, you can check whether the starting motor is working properly.
- Charging test can check the 12V or 24V charging system to ensure that the generator's charging current and output voltage are in a normal state.
- Maximum load test mainly measures the value of the battery's maximum loadable electrical appliances. The purpose of the load test is to ensure that the battery can still operate normally without exceeding the maximum expected workload.

I've used big brand name battery testers for over 3 decades now. Other than ridiculously high purchase prices, I've never given any thought to them. They just work. But this AUTOOL tester changed all that! Accurate readings, no gimmicks to get those readings (i.e. turn headlights on, rev engine, etc.), and it reads actual amp load.
