I purchased this item because I was looking for a substitute for a powered Anker 13-in-one dock that, after two rounds of return / replacement, consistently had the same issue (the HDMI inputs were goofed up and kept displaying the screen in wonky colors upon waking up the computer; it wasn't a cable or monitor issue, and both of the docks that I received were defective with the same problem). I specifically wanted to purchase an item from a reputable brand whose products I trusted, and I thought that Belkin was one of those brands. I'm, ahem, not quite so sure about that right now.Critical note: It says several times in the description that additional drivers are not necessary in order to utilize this device. When I plugged in my setup and the monitor didn't initially work, I noticed a sticker on it saying that additional drivers needed to be downloaded in order to get it to work. A'ight, no problem, it's a minor oversight and I recognize that software updates are occasionally necessary since I'm using the new M4 MacBook Pro. I toddled over to the site, downloaded the drivers, and away we went. However, when I opened and started running the driver, my computer threw up a warning saying that the driver wanted permission to record my screen. I figured that it was a "miscommunication" between the computer and the driver, so I granted it permission - but upon using it for about five minutes, I discovered that it was, in fact, RECORDING my SCREEN. It was running in the background. To whom my screen recordings were being transmitted or if they were actually captured and sent somewhere, I suppose I'll never know, but in today's day and age, one really can't be too careful about who can get hold of our data. I may be one small cog in the wheel of society, but I refuse to give up my right to privacy so that I can use a third monitor in my gaming setup. The other problem I have with this is that it wasn't actually powered. For a 11-in-one, it should really have an external power supply. As other reviewers of this item have noted, the refresh rate is trash and the mouse was extremely choppy; additionally, the USB input is extremely slow and it took forever to load my files on my external hard drives.Hard pass.

So, I have a home MacBook Air M3, and a work PC - home office set up where I have one program open on one screen, one on the other. - not that unusual. What I was hoping this Belkin would do was to enable me to have one dock that would work with both the Mac and the pc. The product description led me to believe it would: it doesn't! Was great with PC, but with MAC just mirrors. Belkin customer support wasn't that helpful. I concede might well be the limitation of me or the Mac, but I do think the Belkin should say only mirrors , doesn't extend..The quest continues!

Pro’s:~Great quality~Lots of connections for all peripherals~Small form Factor~Clean looking and functionalCon’s:~Could not get more than 30 Hertz refresh rate on UltraWide monitor~3.5mm headphone jack had constant hum~No power adapter includedWhen it comes to computer peripherals, Belkin makes some of the best quality out there. Every time I buy a Belkin product, I know I am getting a good one. The Belkin Connect 11 in 1 USB C docking station is not only functional, but looks great, clean and raises the laptop up for a functional use as well as the obvious connection station. In the box:In the box you just get the docking station, the USB C cable is connected and cannot be removed. There is a sticker on the product that tells you a website to go to in order to download the recommended drivers.Connection:Connecting everything to the docking station was very easy. There are two HDMI ports for dual monitor, a VGA port in case you are using an older monitor, an Ethernet port, 3.5 mm headphone jack, 2 memory card ports, 2 USB A ports and 2 USB C ports. One of the USB C ports is for charging the laptop if you choose to do that. Depending on your laptop, you can power all of the devices using the computer itself but this would drain your battery significantly.Use:I am using my dock with my M1 MacBook Pro. The first thing I did was download the free drivers that they recommend. This was quick and easy. Once that was done, I plugged everything into the docking station and set my laptop up on it. I really like how the dock is under the laptop propping up the laptop a bit. This creates a better typing situation if you use the laptop keyboard itself. Although given you are using a docking station, you will likely be using an external keyboard. Placing the dock under the laptop also hides the dock which is great because some docking stations can look very messy.I had a continuous problem with the headphone jack where there was a constant hum. I have used this computer setup with other docks and I have never had that issue. I ended up just disconnecting the speakers entirely. My setup has an UltraWide(UW) monitor as well as a 2k monitor. When I started to mouse over and use my UW screen, I noticed that the mouse was very choppy. I checked out the display settings and noticed that I could not get the refresh rate higher than 30 Hertz which is horrible. My 2k screen was up to 75 Hertz which is normal, but I expect better for my UW. I don’t know if this is a problem with the docking station or using an HDMI cable. My other docks used DisplayPort so HDMI could be the limitation. I used brand new 8k compatible HDMI cables so I know it’s not the cables themselves.I have no idea what the software drivers do. When I first used the dock, I had the software running and the only thing that was on the screen was a “Mirror” button as well as a disconnect button. Since I was having this refresh rate issue, I decided to quit the driver/app and see if it made a difference and there wasn’t any. Maybe the driver is more for Windows computers as it worked the same with and without on my Mac.My biggest complaint is that this docking station does not come with a power plug of any kind. The dock requires a 65W minimum to power your computer and devices and that is a pretty heavy duty power connection which doesn’t come cheap. For the higher price of this docking station, I would have liked to see a power connection included. Conclusion:Overall I like the Belkin docking station but it is not up to the high standards I have for Belkin products. Since I was not able to get the speaker jack to work without a constant hum and I couldn’t fix the refresh rate on my UW monitor, unfortunately I cannot recommend this product. It does have all the connections necessary for a full desk setup including 3 screens and plenty of USB connections for all of your devices. Perhaps this dock just doesn’t mesh well with my equipment; I will have to look for other solutions.
