Slot depth is much larger than it should be measuring at 15.45mm. 8020 dot net has them at 14.32 mm.Therefore:1. The manufacturer is using less aluminum given the larger depth2. The structure is less rigid3. Hardware like the t-nut with a ball spring is loose and dangles in the t-slot channel.

Previously I bought my aluminum extrusions from the other "A" store because of the price, but didn't like waiting 2 or 3 weeks. Then I found this extrusion on Amazon for nearly the same price in the sizes and dimensions I needed for a project. All four pieces in my order were equal length within 1mm. That's fine for me.

Hi hi,I go through a lot of extrusion like this, from 10x10 to 40x80. This piece is very typical of a good quality extrusion. The finish is nice and clean, no bends or warping along the length, all bevels, edges and dimensions are within specification and the price is decent. Not much else to say about a simple piece of extruded aluminum, but I do recommend this- I've ordered and received worse at higher prices for sure.

4040 is such useful stuff because it’s so easy to use it for bolting together pretty much anything you can imagine. I’ve assembled a bunch of things from 4040 that came as precut and complete kits that you unbox and build. This 400mm extrusion is exactly what I expected to receive and it is compatible with my other 4040 extrusions and fittings.

I work in aerospace and we use a ton of 8020 to build structures, so I know the stuff is extremely versatile and robust. I'd never heard of this company and was curious how it would compare, and to be honest, if you put a piece of this side-by-side with 8020 I don't think I could tell you the difference. I own one other piece with a single channel, so it's nice to have the second as you can use it for adding brackets and such, or just get a little more clamping force. I'll need to buy a lot more before I can build much with it, but so far I am very pleased with this product. Price wise it seems pretty similar to its competitor and I'm not sure if this company offers the same level of customization they do, but I will absolutely be picking up more of this!

Used to roof mount solar array on boat. Works well with available 4040 hardware. Withstood hurricane force winds with 200 watt panels mounted on it.
