The buckle is designed according to the emblem of the Ukrainian assault troops. The front side of the buckle depicts a parachute dome as a symbol of paratroopers all over the world. Open wings symbolize paratroopers as a strike from the sky. Moreover, wings symbolize Archangel Michael as a saint patron of soldiers and parachutists in particular.
Archangel Michael himself is depicted on the inside of the buckle as a commander of the Heavenly Army, a deputy who is always invisibly present with the soldier. In his hands, he holds a fiery sword.
