Valkyrie - in Scandinavian mythology, a woman-warrior, a celestial woman, and a servant of Odin. The purposeful goal of Valkyrie was the election of the most worthy among the dead soldiers, and their escort to Valhalla. Valkyrie themselves appeared to be similar to the crows, which always circled above the battlefield. Later legends were more lenient to the image of the virgin warriors, depicting them with beauties in winged helmets, with swords from the light on graceful white horses.
