Your cart is empty.A good, quality machinist rule is an indispensable tool used by machinists, woodworkers, architects, draftsman, scientists, students, DIYers and more. When used correctly, a good steel rule is a surprisingly accurate measuring device. These rules are made from Japanese rust-resistant stainless steel that has been tempered creating a measuring tool that can flex if needed but will snap back straight. The edges and ends have been ground parallel, straight, smooth and square. Graduations are produced via a photoengraving process creating very consistent and accurate markings with uniform line widths. Once etched, graduations are white filled for maximal readability. Graduation are etched and not printed so will not wear off with prolonged use. Graduations conform to strict international EEC 1 Accuracy Standards, i.e. +/- 0.2 mm at 20 Degrees C for 1000 mm Rule. 4R graduation marks feature quick-reading 32nds and 64ths on one side and 8ths and 16ths on the reverse. Finish is black chrome. Black chrome finish provides scratch and corrosion resistance and maximizes readability by achieving a zero-glare, high-contrast, EZ read finish that enhances readability in both low and bright light conditions. Each rule comes in vinyl storage pouch. These are well made rules and will provide years of reliable service in any shop, studio, clinic, lab, classroom or home environment.

Those SS rulers that have been the norm are really hard to read (at least for me). This is a big turn around.

This is a great little scale. It's steel, with 1/8th and 1/16th graduations on one side, and 1/32nd and 1/64th on the other. The white on black markings are easier to read than the plain steel one I used to use.

Made in India, not in in the category of a Mitutoyo, but a decent value and the ability to discern the digits is a plus.

I use this style rule in my home shop more than any other rule or tape, mostly wood work. Bent the old one and had to have a replacement. I find black easier to read than polished steel. I find the coarser scale easier to use if l don't need the finer measurement, but have the finer scales when required. The 6-inch size is easier to use for short measurements and I use a longer rule or tape when needed.
