I just tried this at a Sam Ash store today, so I figured I should give my thoughts here.Pros: Surprisingly lightweight for its size - probably 24ish pounds, despite its 26” bell. Short-action valves with nice little finger indentations on the valve caps. The finger ring is at a little weird angle, but that’s something that you might want to have moved to suit your hand on your own horn anyway. Also, it has that metal shoulder pad that you normally only see in high-end models.Cons: Oh, the intonation! It’s so bad that I wondered if this was even a Bb instrument when I tried playing something I knew. For instance, the F on the bottom of the staff was almost a whole step flatter than the low open Bb, when tested with a tuner. It just sounded like the wrong notes were coming out! The only explanation I could fathom is its very unconventional tubing design - take a close look at the photos. Maybe you don’t have to copy the Conn or the King, but why is the second valve slide so long?? All in all, it’s a very weird horn that needs some redesign help.
