Not leak proof. We have to carry it upright so the teeny tiny bit of juice from her mandarin oranges or peaches doesn't leak out while it's stored on its side in her backpack. Besides that, she enjoys opening the box to find out what's for snack. I appreciate the variety of portion sizes and number of compartments. It works great for dry food. Easy to clean.

Color is not nearly as bright as it appears in the picture. It's a pale powder blue. I was trying to get a couple fun colors to meal prep with but this one feels a bit dull. Love that it has a lid though

A perfect solution to minimizing using plastic bags in school lunches. I ordered one for both my five year old and three year old. I had read reviews this might be difficult to open so I had my littles practice at home one time before packing it into their lunch boxes and they did great with it. It took a little getting used to, but now the tabs open and close no problem! I enjoy coming up with fun lunch ideas to put into their little boxes, and the portion sizes seem perfect. These fit in their standard lunch boxes no problem. It also cleans very easily.

Best for preschool aged children or for snacks not lunch meals in terms of portion sizing. Great value for money and sturdy however.

Sturdy bento box- this can be used as a replacement for the Bentgo that comes with a tray inside a box with snap lid OR on its own because this also comes with its own clear snap lid. For $10 this is a great value and alternative to the $30 one with the decorative lid. The listing as it is right now is confusing Bc the names say “mermaid scales” and “camo” etc which are the names of the $30 ones with non see through lids with fun designs. These are sold separately. I was originally looking for the mermaid scales one but when I saw this I figured I would try it. The purple is really cute and I’m happy to save the $20. Plus I like being able to see what’s inside. I will be using this inside an insulated lunchbox for my daughter. I took a few pics to show the size of the compartments(small) and also how much space is left in a standard lunch box. I can still fit a juice box and soft ice pack but not a water bottle. Hope this helps your selection!
