My compliments are to the seller. Every order came in a sealed box and the bait were fresh, i.e. in a clear solution, not stained like I usually find in retail stores. The shrimp hold up better and catch more fish than the Gulp swimming mullet which is another favorite of mine for seatrout.

When properly rigged the fish can not strip the bait off the hook. Good tor all the salt water fish in SouthFlorida. Got snapper , grouper, red fish, snook and trout. It out fishes live shrimp. When casting it does mot fall off the hook. it can be cut into pieces for catching smaller snappers in the 10 to 15 inch range

I like the color new penny, but it seems to be inconsistent, some new penny has a white looks like “spice n glow” top. That’s my favorite. But I’ll settle for solid new penny. Or Rootbeer gold with chartreuse. I use a 1/4oz jighead, saltwater assassin pro elite is my favorite, in chartreuse. Just throw it out and bounce/twitch it along the bottom. Only issue i have is packaging. The bags come with 10 I think for $8 (was $6) the half pints are $14 but I think it comes with 12-14 pieces. Not sure about the pints. I wish it was consistent for the price. If they go up again I’m going to have to learn to work Down South Lures.

I used the 3 inch shrimp New Penny color last year in Marathon FL and Hatteras NC. They worked better than live shrimp or cut bait because they held together long enough for the bigger fish to attack them. I used them with either a circle hook with a weight on the line or with a jig head (various brands). I just ordered the 4 in version of the shrimp and received 10 in the 11.5 oz bucket. I'm looking to use the larger ones to target larger fish off shore.I posted a picture to show the size difference in the 3 in and 4 in version. I was surprised that the 4 in is much bigger. My 3 in ones were stored for a year in the Gulp juice; not sure if they shrunk any. I also like that the container that the 4 in ones came in, it can fit in my Plano 3741-10 deep waterproof box.I also like the DOA shrimp. They come with prepped with hooks and weights. They are a bit more pricey but they hold together well.

Make no mistake - these DO catch fish. I'd definitely recommend these to fishermen on the east coast - especially Florida. However, they're mainly only effective on the west coast for flounder fishing. Just know what/where you're fishing before buying this product.I fish the Pacific NW and catch flounder and rock sole with these, but a lot of other fish up here just don't like 'em. If I use bloodworms/raw shrimp I can catch a much larger variety of fish, including surfperch, so perhaps these just aren't for me.Also, keep the lid TIGHT on this thing. I carried it around in a backpack and it leaked - I don't think the smell will ever go away...
