Bessey is one of the best in clamps to start with. Most important was alignment of the screw and anvil. Especially good on a 12” clamp. And great price. HEAVY DUTY!

It’s a clamp, how can you goof that up?The spindle to frame threads are so sloppy loose that I am surprised the spindle doesn’t fall out of the frame! There’s at least a ¼” of slop when measured where the spindle pad meets the anvil. (6” clamp) When trying to clamp steel to weld, the clamp pushes the parts way out of alignment, and never the same direction!There are many brands of clamps in the shop, Armstrong, Cincinnati, Wilton, Wilton-Hargrave, etc., they all do the job. They all appear to be about the same design, including the Bessey clamps.As all these clamps are in the same price range, there is no reason to put up with Bessey’s inferior quality.I based my purchase on the Amazons 5 star rating and the fact that the Bessey website lists these clamps as “Made in USA”. I believe neither is true. My 2 clamp are being returned.
