Wanted a safer back seat for anyone sitting in my TJ and the Bestop Trailmax II has headrests. The seat itself is fine but the seat back isn't as high as the original so the headrests in their highest position will only work for those below 5'7" or so. The included front mounting hardware is essentially the same as the original, just 1/2" wider so you must get the original hardware out ('98 TJ-no small task). My guess is that this must be a Mopar copyright issue as there is no apparent reason to make them just a bit wider.Where this gets really interesting is with forcing you to remove the original seatbelt mounts to place Bestop's single center-rear latch instead of using the original double side-rear attachment sites. Not only is this not as secure but DOES NOT WORK WITH MOPAR ORIGINALLY INSTALLED INSTA-TRUNK. Customer service calls to Bestop explained they had never heard of this Jeep option or anything similar to it ("...and I've been with the company quite some time sir"). [...]Seat itself is fine, installation was unnecessarily difficult.
