I don’t tell my students what this is for when I put it on. I have in the past told them that I wanted to write on the reed and this is what I write on - 100% of my students felt the difference immediately and were impressed. Their reactions were of shocked when I told them what it really was, as they couldn’t believe that it worked so well. I’m a 20+ year Reed artist for BG, even introduced these to the Principal Clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic (W.F.) and he couldn’t understand why they worked, but was surprised too at how well they did work. Try a pack, you’ll be surprised too!

I am an experienced clarinet player and I use these on my legere reeds to keep them from moving around under the ligature. So far they work great and have lasted several weeks.

I'm always willing to "test" something that says it will improve something I use. I purchased the large (for tenor sax size reeds) Reed Saver and have used it for several performances. I do think it clears my sound a bit...and feels good when playing. I would give it five stars, but can't simply because I find it hard to apply the Reed Performer to my wet/damp reeds (I store all my sax/clarinet reeds in the "ReedJuvinate" reed case). I hope BG reads these comments and can improve on the "stick" to accomodate damp reeds. If your reed is dry when you begin playing these Reed Performers would likely be very easy to use and I would recommend for you.

Provides a nice layer to protect the reed fibers from the pressure of the ligature, which truly does prolong the life of the reed.
