I bought it and shortened my chain once and worked fine but the second time the bolt on the end just snaped off with barely any pressure.

well it worked great once i had finished the threads on the plate thumbwheel. the one i got the threads were not complete so i couldnt adjust it properly but once i noticed the problem i just threaded it in all the way and it was good to go.

Harbour Freight Chinese tool price grade tool. A rider would use this tool infrequently which is acceptable.Not for a pro mechanics tool box.

I used to have a different cheapo chain breaker that I used about 3 times before it broke. I expected this item to be about the same, and equally lackluster in user experience. Since I use Master Links, I only needed one to work twice this time. This tool is a step above my previous one. It is easier to use, and comes with an extra tip for when the original eventually breaks (It's tiny! Don't lose it!). The extra backer piece that braces the chain from behind is what makes this tool so much better than my last one. It also turns more easily. I don't need one of these very often, so I am very happy to have this one for when I do.

I love this little gadget..... it makes a frustrating chain link adjustment SIMPLE and doesn't damage the neighboring links. Easy to use, little effort needed. The cost and performance is amazing!!! A must have in your toolbox. My motorized bike-builds are less congested when I am on this section of the build!!P.S... You can't "Hercules-crank" this tool because it WILL break, Nice and Gentle gets the job done!!!5 STARS FROM ME....
