Ought to have practiced more before the return window closed! The plastic used here is no where near strong enough for its intended use. Qualifies as junk.

These can work really well -- set on the rim edge and it pulls the tire up and over -- it can really help with leverage, but be careful on carbon rims.

I finally had the need to remove a tire off my son's mountain bike and used this tool to try removing and reseating the front tire. It definitely was easier to remove the tire off the rim, but putting the tire back on was a bit of a challenge. Perhaps I just need more practice using it. One thing is for sure, it is easier then the plastic ones which seem to flex too much and don't provide adequate leverage, and the metal ones can damage the rim if you aren't careful.
