Big Book of Alto Sax Songs (Big Book (Hal Leonard))

Good book, lots of songs to choose from. Just beginning to read music so it's a little advanced for me but I'm practicing a few of the easier songs.

What can you say, it's a Hal Leonard book, they are always great. Some really great tunes in this with a mix of tempo's, styles and plenty to get you playing more than the usual stuff.

The music is fine, but if you purchase the Kindle version, you cannot print pages. This makes the book almost useless since I don't want to read music of a computer screen.

This product is super misleading! This does not include 101 full songs. They are samples of the song, not the whole thing. Luckily this was bought as a gift for a beginner sax player but it’s super disappointing when you’re looking forward to playing a song in its entirety.

Great mix of songs! Easy to play but that is a individual opinion.

Liking this book as a beginner because it's proving a challenge. There are plenty of songs I know so it makes it easy to know if I'm playing them correctly. The songs range all styles and tempos so it gives me plenty to choose from. Only been playing for a few months so still choosing slower tempos.

I stopped playing sax 18 years ago. I recently bought a new sax and purchased this book to have some tunes to play. There are SO MANY great songs here! There are a few arrangements I would have chosen differently, but this book and the large number of songs exceeded my expectations!

1st year sax player & second year band (played clarinet last year) plays out of this book.. Says it got easier after she learned more notes (was half way thru the school year when she said this). Mixes it up instead of just playing out of the band book. & I enjoy hearing stuff I like if I'm going to listen to her practice.

I recently ran into my high school band teacher while I was at work. He asked if I was still playing the saxophone, and I told him I was not. This led to a stern lecture about how I should still be playing. I took it to heart and used it as an excuse to buy another saxophone and all the equipment.My biggest fear in jumping back in was whether or not I would remember how to read music after nearly 16 years. I ordered this book because it had a lot of songs that I liked, and it was designed for the alto saxophone which meant I didn't have to do any transposing.When I first got the book, I threw it on the stand and opened to the page with "Beyond the Sea" on it. To my delight, I was instantly playing the song, and reading the music.I have now played a good collection of songs in the book, and I'm pleased with everything in it. The book is great, and contains a selection of songs that should keep any music lover playing things they love for a good long time.For a first book when getting back into the swing of things, I don't think there could be a much better option.

This is my go-to book after I practice the music for our band. As a recent retiree I love playing the songs I grew up with as well as more current songs my grandkids know. Easy? Somewhat, no sixteenth notes, but you can add all the dynamics and extras you want. Change up the tempo and do your own thing with it. A great buy.

I give it 4 stars not because the book doesn't deserve 5 stars; it's because I only found several songs that I like. The songs are easy enough for Beginner or Intermediate alto sax player.
