It works extremely well. I no longer need ear plugs. It puts the sound closer to an HMF pipe. It does reduce power but it’s worth it for the noise reduction and is easy to put in and out for weekend rides or racing. But you will need to tune for it. I get around 85mph with it and 96mph with out it.

On my dual exhaust these made a drastic improvement. Still has a great tone but won’t piss the little old ladies off.

All I had to do is take the tail piece off the muffler stick the silencer in and put the tail piece back on. Took maybe 5 minutes tops. Muffler is still good and loud but the sharp raspy note at full throttle is gone!!!! Just what I wanted the insert to do.

I'm not sure if I simply received the wrong part/size, or that the dimensions listed for this insert aren't accurate (at the time of purchase and of writing this the item dimensions are stated as "11 x 6.5 x 1.5 inches LxWxH") - I expected the length to be approx. 11" as stated, but the unit I received is much shorter - approx. 6".A significant mistake with my personal order, or inaccurate information all together? Whichever is the case in my circumstances this purchase has been a small headache and a loss of fuel expenses in getting this dropped back off to return. Be advised.

Helps me to not be “that guy” and the target of scorn from my neighbors. The insert is not much and it installed easily, between this and new exhaust packing it took what was a screaming loud obnoxious tone from a big gun evo r exhaust on a klr650 to a low rumble. It seems to have knocked the high range out of the sound and I actually really like the tone of the exhaust now. I do feel like it has some small degree less power but still enough for my use and much more pleasant to ride long distances

Fit and finish is top notch went right on 660 rhino like that it’s a 2 peice exhaust for the rhino much easier too install sounds good at idle and mid throttle full throttle it’s redicullsly loud and doesn’t even sound good the hmf on my grizzly 700 sounds way better even at full throttle . So I don’t recommend this pipe for 660 or 700 Yamahas

As far as the product goes, I guess I have a bittersweet opinion.I reluctantly bought this after I installed the Big Gun Evo U on my 2011 Polaris Sportsman 550 EFI. It was much louder than I anticipated! That's not really a bad thing in my opinion, but of course most public trails frown upon it. So, better to spend $30 now instead of $150 or more later in court! The reviews I read on this thing have been pretty mixed. Some say it's too quiet, some say it doesn't really work. I happened to have access to a sound level meter and before the insert was at about 102-104 dB at idle. After installing it which took all of 3 minutes, I was sitting at 91-92 dB. No, it no longer sounds like satan yelling profanities at all the creatures in the forest, but it still sounds much better than stock! There was an ever so slight dip in power, but it really isn't that bad.

Big Gun exhausts are loud. I have one on a KLR 650. I originally had the Vortex quiet core installed, and frankly, it didn't do anything to tame the sonic booms exiting the back of the bike. I stumbled across this Vortex 2 insert and thought I would give it a try. I wouldn't say the exhaust is quiet now, but at least it isn't embarrassing anymore. I didn't notice any drop in power, but decibels have certainly dropped to socially acceptable levels.
