Both our Harley's have ape hangers that are almost 2 inches thick and these are a perfect fit and securely holds the camera still .

When I ordered this, the title was different and it wasn't just for motorcycle handlebars. The orange claw end opens up wide enough to grip smaller poles common in photography studios. It barely fits the poles commonly used to construct monitor stands for multiple monitors but it does fit. I used this because I wanted to mount a video source switcher to my control tower in my podcast studio. You could also mount some lights, most cameras, any number of equipment racks (like for phones or tablets) or any number of other things to it. It does come with a gopro adapter which I didn't use. It has a firm grip and good traction. This will hold steady for anything normal you do indoors and probably on your motorcycle, too.

Was a little skeptical at first, but after the first use, I love it. Super easy to install seemed a little sketchy at first but held on no issue. I use this on my motorcycle on a daily basis.

It does NOT come the action camera connection, it only comes with a regular tripod screw, the kind that photography cameras have. The connection is in the pictures, along with a screw to hold GoPro style cameras, but they didn't send one.
