This bike chain kit has everything I needed for basic chain maintenance and repairs. The tools work well and feel sturdy. Great to have on hand for quick fixes.

This is exactly what I needed. It has a master link and chain, chain breakers and everything else you need to get your chain replaced. The process is pretty simple. Watch a video as a refresher if you haven't changed a chain in a long time. Make sure you get the right size chain too. For my shimano gearset this worked great. The first thing you will want to do is use the included tool to see how worn out your chain is. There is no point in changing it if it still has life in it. I would recommend this product but make sure you order the right size chain.

This is an amazing chain. First of all, if you haven't changed your bike chain in a while, it has probably stretched, and that will increase friction as the gaps in your chain no longer properly align with your gears. That will not only slow you down, but eventually it can wear out your gears. This isn't just a new chain, it's a complete replacement system. Everything you need will be included including a chain breaker, and quick link pliers, as well as spare quick links for the future, gloves to do the change without getting your hands greasy, a chain gauge to be sure it really is time to change your chain, and a carrying pouch in case you want to save it all for later. For what you pay it's amazing just how much is included.Installation was a breeze. I used the included chain breaker to remove my old chain. The new chain installed with a quick link that slipped right on. I didn't need to use the quick link pliers. The chain was already the proper length, a perfect fit for my 8 speed commuter running a 42t chain ring and 14-34t cassette. As for the chain itself, that gold color may look a bit excessive, but that's actually a titanium plating which will improve the durability of your chain, reduce friction, and help prevent rust. This is the same coating that's been used on high performance drill bits that cut metal and concrete for years. The build quality of the chain also looks quite solid. I noticed small contours built into the links for reinforcement which will give the chain more resistance to warping than typical flat links, much like an I-beam used in building construction. But how well does it work on an actual ride? Amazingly! I tested it out going up steep hills on my way to work, taking it up to speeds over 20mph, and shifting all the way up and down my cassette. The reduction in friction was a night and day difference. Not just new chain good, but even smoother than that thanks to smooth outer surface of the chain cleanly sliding across every tooth.I will warn you that this is built for a cassette that supports 8 speeds or more. If you're using the still fairly common 7 speed cassette, this won't work for you. Check for compatibility before ordering.

I have been working on an "X-bike" restomod of a 30+ year old Jamis Eureka. Part of the project was converting from a 3X 21-speed to a 1X 7-speed drivetrain. I have also been going with a gold and red color scheme and wanted a gold chain to match this. This chain works great with a 7 speed 11-34T cassette and 32T narrow wide chainring. They include a matching gold quick link so you don't have one silver link standing out. After several rides on the local rail trail the chain has been holding up fine and looks fantastic at the same time!

Great little tool kit for the price good chain which is pretty much the reason I bought it tools are okay. the chain brake tool is sort of weak. But I bought it because it was a quick link chain and you really don't need a tool to put that on. Im still happy with the purchase and the price.

Tools are cheap, and the chain seems to be doing what chains should be doing!!!The tools are standard and somewhat right below 'good' quality level.I had to switch back to the previous chain I was using. This one has the same specs, but for some reason, I had several gear slips/jumps and ghost switching. The chain didn't feel deep enough for my gear setup.

This is a handy kit basically has everything you need to quickly and easily swap your chain. In the past typically haven't needed to deal with a damaged chain on the side of the road, and instead just change it when the maintenance seems necessary. A chain breaker and a pair of pliers is always done me okay. However I have an ebike now, and I think this overall kit could be a lifesaver at some point. The set comes with three quick links, which is great, even though they are reusable, but always better to have more, because they're relatively easy to damage. It also comes with what looks like a passable quality chain breaker, and a ok set of pliers for the quick links, which honestly make things a lot easier. You also get a chain checker measuring tool, to determine the chain stretch and wear, one set of disposable nitrile gloves, and a cheap but effective drawstring bag to hold it all in. The tools are probably on the low end of quality but functional, and definitely useful. The chain itself looks to be a pretty solid quality chain. I believe it has a physical vapor deposition layer of titanium nitride, which should improve its hardness, durability and rust resistance. It has the double ”X” bridge shape which supposedly helps with shifting.Overall I think this is a pretty good kit, even with the cheap tools. You can find less costly high quality chains, even name brand ones for lower prices, but I still thing at this price its a decent deal, but only if you are looking to get these tools too.If you have these tools, and just need a chain, you can find better deals on just the chain on Amazon. However I plan on putting it in my bag when I go out trail riding, and feel confident that if I ever need to swap out my chain on the fly I won't have any problems.
