Worked perfectly and seems to be made of quality material. Saved me a trip to the bike shop. I would much rather spend the money on the tool and then do the work myself. Plus, I’ll most likely use it over again in the future. It never hurts to have tools. It probably took me 30 minutes to change my 8 gear cassette from my old rim to my new one. I can’t even drive to the bike shop and back in that time. Let alone have the work done. And if they couldn’t do the work immediately that’s two trips to the bike shop. I highly recommend this tool for any bicycle do it yourselfer.

My new to me Trek 3500 with Shimano hub and freewheel had an issue with the derailleur being out of adjustment. Because of that the chain came off and wedged itself between the freewheel and spoke protector. With this tool I was able to loosen the freewheel thus allowing the chain to become unwedged. I may never use this tool but worth every bit of the $10 to get my bike back on the road!

I bought this because it was advertised with similar specs as the Park FR-1.2 and Shimano TL-FW30 freewheel removal tool, which works with many Shimano, Sachs, and other model vintage freewheels. It DEFINITELY isn't. The splines are spaced properly, the walls are thin enough, but the splines themselves are too wide to engage the Sachs LY freewheel I attempted to remove with it. I had to default back to my Park tool instead. It's unfortunate, but the tool itself, overall looks well made. I assume it's hardened. I wish I'd had a chance to test it on more wheels. I'm sure it'll come in handy eventually, so I'm adding it to my freewheel remover collection to try another day!
