The description seems a little incomplete. I have a vl1500 suzuki, 2006. Didn't fit. Check the picture for the mounted portion of the light. It seems to be a threaded screw. Mine was not threaded, it was a solid metal bar with a retaining screw.

Bought four in less than a year. Rubber is poorly made. It just splits and your light will be hanging. One broke and I thought it was just a fluke. So I bought another. Then I went for a ride and when I got home the second one was hanging.I will be searching for another manufacturer in the future if it happens again. Just got stuck in a circle on this purchase.

I stupidly backed my old LS650 into my girlfriend's car and busted the factory left-rear turn signal housing (not to mention scraped up her car >_I was _not_ disappointed. The fit and finish of the new housing and lens are excellent, more than good enough for a $35 non-oem replacement part. Even comes with an incandescent bulb installed.It only receives 4 starts from me for one reason:As mentioned by others, this unit has a slightly different mounting mechanism to the OEM one.Rather than being secured by the big bolt through the bottom of the rear fender supports. The OEM design keeps the light aligned perfectly rear-facing.The design of this replacement part is different, instead requiring you to thread a washer and nut over the cable (which was not included with mine) and then tighten it on the inside of the fender support. This is "ok", but it means that you have to align the lamp housing yourself, and over time with vibration it will more than likely move.The solution to this was simple enough. Since my old housing was entirely busted, I clipped off the bulb mounts for both, swapped the support bolt and wire from the original housing into the new housing, then soldered the bulb mount back on and covered the bare wires with heat shrink.It works great! The housings are _nearly_ identical, this new housing is slightly larger than the old one (can't tell once its on the bike), meaning the rubber gasket around the support stud doesn't fit quite as snug, but its fine.tldr; swapping over the support stud from the old to this new one meant I had a factory-like replacement without factory-like prices, and I'm very happy with that :)

Other reviewers complained that the light continued to rotate after installation. I found that if you take off the entire rear light assembly and tighten the nut enough that you wont have that problem. I found the light to be identical to the OEM part in both appearance and functionality at half the price. I would purchase again without hesitation.
