I have been getting by for some years without a scraper and now I wonder why I was holding out! I only bake occasionally which is why I held off on getting one. Now we have easy dough recipes and found it justifiable to get a dough scraper. Great Scott, great tool, why did I wait so long to get one!The size is actually bigger that I imagined in my head and this is a good thing! It makes the tool more functional for cutting/splitting dough. I really like the measurement on blade portion for consistent cuts and quick checks instead of just eyeing it. The thickness of the blade is great for its rigidness, but not unnecessarily heavy.I love the handle, it fits great in your hand and allows for even pressure when cutting. It is also nice to hold for scaping the dough bits off the surface. Again the blade size is perfect for this operation. It is probably the best reason why I enjoy this scraper: for actually scraping/cleaning the work surface. It makes quick work of cleanup.If you have just been "getting by" in the past without a scraper, treat yourself to this functional kitchen tool. You've done your time without one, you'll thank yourself for getting one.

This thing feels well built. The rubber grip handle is a joy. Also, the metal scraper surface is calibrated with measurements that come in quite handy when working with pastry and dough and things.

Very nice product. My husband (the baker in the family) used this alongside a similar product to cut in butter for pie dough. The rubber handle on this product is makes it comfortable to use. He places the cutters in the freezer before cutting in dough and he said he was able to handle this product right out of the freezer (the other one we have is all metal, and therefore uncomfortable to hold onto after being in the freezer). The only downside to the handle is the opportunity for dough to get in the groove of the handle where the rubber and metal meet. Cleaning it hasn’t been a problem, though. The Measurement Equivalents feature is nice, but difficult to see. The measurements on the packaging were incorrect, but what is on the cutter itself is correct. Overall, a good product at a good price.

I usually buy my bench scrapers from commercial kitchen suppliers because I am more interested in functionality than in appearance. This bench scraper is just as strong and useful as my plain ol' industrial scrapers. It also has the added bonus of a ruler and little conversion chart on one side of the blade. What sets this scraper apart from my usual kind is the rounded, small grip and curved top. And unfortunately, that's where this scraper loses the plot. It's fine for quickly cutting a batch of soft dough into dinner rolls, but I find it incredibly hard to work with and it hurts. I've lived with arthritis and dexterity problems most of my life and this thing is just a pain to work with because the area of grip is so small and the rounded top is unstable in my hand. I like the look of it and the blade is nice and sturdy, but for strenuous and labor intensive jobs like bagel making and working up large boules, I will stick with my tried and true industrial bench scrapers. If it's not broke, don't fix it!

I like to make homemade foods. In the last few years it’s been sourdough breads. Sometimes you need to scrape up your dough or divide it and this comes in handy. You can also use it to chop some vegetables like onions and other things. There are measurement on the sides on the bottom and measurement equivalents as well. This is heavy duty and it has a gripper handle at the top. It is also dishwasher safe though I tend to not put things like this in the dishwasher. You can also use this to scoop up and lift things from your cutting board into your cooking vessel.

I love this thing!! I use it for polymer clay and it slices though even the firmest Sculpy with ease! Instead of using a razor, I can just use this, and it wipes down easily with water and soap. Big fan!

I was using random things to get the dough off my block but I have been making lots of scones recently and when I saw this at a really good price I just got it. I am knowing off a star for two things int he description that are incorrect - or maybe just not worded right?One is that the handle turns 360 degrees. Like the whole scraper? Of course it does. The handle doesn't move at all. At least not that I can make happen.Second is that the scraper is "tucked away in a pocket until it's ready to use." Mine didn't come with a cover or anything. I don't need it...but that's inaccurate.Overall I recommend it for a novice to intermediate baker. A pro might need a bigger option. I like the measurements on the steel. I haven't had that before. And a conversion. Those both are handy! I will use this kitchen tool for years to come.
