I have two male cockatiels. They are father and son and both have their own separate cages for reasons, but they do love each other. I bought two of these wooden square porch like perches to put in each of their cages. My oldest cockatiel sleeps on it at night and sometimes perching on it during the day, My other cockatiel I've only seen him on it once or twice but he's a little more active than his daddy, I would say it's a great little addition to your bird's cage or any other little animal. One thing to know is with birds sometimes if you put something new in their cage it takes them a long time for them to finally use it or get used to it. The thing I've noticed about my birds is at first they don't really care for anything new but just give it some time and then eventually they'll use it and love it.

Decided to try this perch. Thought it would be good for my parakeets feet. Very sturdy and easy to install. Right now they are a little afraid of it. I will try putting some millet on it.. I have 10 parakeets I'm sure a couple of them will try it.

I would give it a better review but my Parakeet would NOT go near it and I had to take out of his cage! Good quality, sent quickly and reasonably priced. Maybe your bird will like better than mine did! And my bird is never afraid or cautious about anything new in his cage.

Before I bought this perch for my cockatiel, I was skeptical about the product. I was reading reviews and trying to imagine my bird using this perch. I am so happy I bought it. Kiwi (my bird) absolutely LOVES this perch. She sleeps on it, takes a beak full of seed over to it and eats on it, she does everything on this perch. She does periodically nibble on the corners and the sides, but she has not ruined it or anything. It is a little difficult to clean though... I mean the top is like a sandpaper (which is great because when she eats on it she grinds her beak on it lightly which keeps her beak from getting sharp!). PERFECT product... highly recommended.

I like the quality of the product my birds took to using quickly. My suggestion would be to make one side plain wood or make a perch that is just wood for birds with foot issues like Baby she has deformed feet and needs a flat surface that is smoother. But for birds with no foot issues is a great product!

My Parakeets are chewers and this is by far one of their favorite things to chew on they will chew it till there is less than an inch left and they can barely stand on it. That may not sound sturdy but i consider it sturdy as my kids are heavy duty chewers for their size. They take about a week to get used to it and then its on and the poor perch doesn't stand a chance. That being said they usually last 4 or 5 months tops. I always have two in their cage at a time so they won't fight over them.

Nice and sturdy,my parakeet loves this perch! I have two parakeets and two mirrors,one of the mirrors perch was broken off so i installed this platform perch under it after seeing her trying to get next to her buddy at thhe mirrors.She loves it and sits on it alot as her buddy sits in front of his mirror a lot.It attatched to the bars of the cage verynicely and I plan on getting more perches for the feeding station and other areas of the cage.Love it.Update,my parakeet that loves to chew has chewed it to bits,it is no more.

Our birds love this perch! I read that 2-cockatiels would fit together on the platform, but that is not the case. One at a time works great, and they love to just sit there! If you have smaller birds, they for sure will be able to sit together on this perch. Also, I do not have problems with the perch attaching on only one side; I did not need to attach another side to the cage as it's sturdy enough. I am not disappointed.
