First off, there’s no way to secure this cover to the cage, so I don’t see how it can be windproof. Secondly, the flap covering the front of the cage, the part you’d roll or fold up to access the cage without removing the whole cover, doesn’t connect to the rest of the cover. I expected some velcro or zipper, ties, something. But it’s just a loose flap. So there will be light that leaks through. It’s not 100% black out. I did get the blue which might contribute to more light getting in through the fabric but it’s not dark enough to create a dark environment in a bright space. Plus you’ll have light leaking in where the front flap hangs loosely from the rest of the cover. The material is thin which is great, but it is loud, so if your bird isn’t used to that, it will stress it out until it hopefully gets used to it. There’s drawstrings on the bottom of the main part of the cover and a separate drawstring on the unconnected front flap, but again, no way to secure the flap to the rest of the cover, so I don’t see the point in these drawstrings. There wasn’t any instructions with the cover to explain this. It will serve my purpose since I only have my bird inside and I don’t have lights on at night, but if you’re looking for something for outdoor use or something that will truly block out light, this one isn’t the one you’d want.

This is overall a decent bird cage cover, I was using a blanket at night to cover my bird so it can sleep. For the past 12 years I've owned my bird it would refuse to go to sleep without being covered at night as it likes pitch black to sleep. This cover is very lightweight and thin but as long as the sun isn't shining directly on it, it does a good job at blacking out.
