We have an African Gray that's been with us for over 20 years. He has a large cage next to a bench window in our living room that provides him with some light but it's not the same as having a light directly over his enclosure. This dual-head LED arrangement is just right as the poseable necks allow for the fine-tuning of the lights. I've placed it next to where his food and water are at along with his perch warming plate so he can get the full 'sunlight' effect. The lights themselves don't put out a lot of heat and have a clear cover that protects them. There's virtually no assembly required, just a matter of attaching the circular wood cage support and clamping the light in place. The wood block is a nice inclusion as it's essential to keep the cords away from the cage bars so he can't get into any mischief. The steel washers provided were too small for the gap in his cage bars so they had to be supplemented with larger ones but that wasn't a deal breaker. The dial switch takes a little getting used to but allows you to set both the timer and brightness settings with precision. The timer doesn't have a memory so if it comes unplugged or loses power, it resets to the factory defaults. I use grow lights for my multiple house plants and this light works along the same principles in providing the 'cold' daylight full-spectrum of light but doesn't have UVA/B included. The bird was very curious as he always is any time something new gets added. After installation, I left it up but turned off, overnight before activating it and he's been going about his day like nothing changed. I like the convenience of the timer auto-on/off controls as it helps keep a consistent routine for him which is very important as any bird owner will tell you! The functions of the light are straightforward and reliable, and make it a good value for the price. I do wish the cords closest to the light heads were 'armored' or chew-proof as it means we have to be extra careful if he climbs out on the top of his cage that he doesn't get after the cords that are reachable on the side exterior.

I think it's gonna take him some time to get used to, as with most new things I present to him, but I'm hoping he warms up to it. As for how I like it, I don't think the controls are exactly user-friendly, but it is (in theory) pretty simple to operate and I'm glad to finally have a full spectrum light for him! My biggest complaint is that clicking the button to change modes doesn't always seem to work unless you press REALLY hard. I can't always get it to change from brightness to timer modes and back on the first try. It's not a huuuge issue, but it's a little annoying it doesn't work quite right. Other than that, I do very much like it - having two lights to cover the span of his cage is great, and the poseability of the arms is excellent.I might suggest to the manufacturer that a light meant for birds should have something chew-proof over the cord closest to the cage, but so far my parrot is keeping away from it.

I needed two full spectrum lights for some nano aquariums I have, and this is marketed with the perfect spectrum for my needs. I positioned one head towards each aquarium; and this works better than having multiple units with multiple cables to plug in. The control panel is easy to read and use, and the brightness is controlled with a nice durable dial. I definitely think this is a great value for the money, and recommend for its functionality.

Great product. Has different levels of brightness and a timer. Very easy to set up. Great value for the price.

The light works well and I like that it is dimmable/adjustable. I don't know how truly effective it is in replacing and mimicking natural sunlight but I didn't get it for that purpose. I got it just for giving my birds bright light above their cages so they have a consistent source of light in the room they're in. The clip is ok but doesn't work super great for clipping on skinny cage bars. Other than that, there's not much to be said. It's a light that turns on, is dimmable, and I don't know about its "health benefits" or being "full spectrum".

I have lots of lights on my plants and various critter enclosures, and most of them have the timers that can only do 6, 9, 0r 12 hours. I like that this one lets me set any time, without being as expensive or complicated as the aquarium light with the fancy programmable timer that actually requires a clock to set. Bright enough but not super-bright for the size. The clip is stiff enough to stay put and the adjustable arms also mostly stay where I put them. I only wish it had a slow-dim off/on feature for a more natural sunrise/sunset.

I use these on my Budgies' cage, and they work great. Their cage isn't close to a window, so these lights give them a lot of light. The on and off switch is nice and big. The birds seem happy when the lights come on in the morning. These are very convenient with the timer. I'm very pleased with them.
