Loved that it's easy to slip these on and off with one hand. Much easier than gloves. Quality is good. great for pork butts and brisket

When these first arrived I wasn't sure what I was looking at. I think these will be great when I smoke a shoulder or butt. There are two mitts, but they were packed in a single film bag with the hand pockets facing away from each other. The other side is smooth silicon, which is great for picking up hot large pieces of meat as they are insulating and easy to clean and were contacting each other. Unfortunately, they were not easy to separate. However, they did eventually come apart with no damage. This wouldn't have been an issue if there was some texture on the material on this side. While these aren't something I will use on a regular basis, but they will come in handy for those big pieces of meat I do work with several times a year.

I needed to replace my old neoprene BBQ gloves that were starting to break down. I bought these Birdrock Home mitts for general kitchen use as "pot holders" and "oven mitts", as well as BBQ gloves. I was looking for something that would grip well, have good flexibility, and would be easy to clean. Of course, they needed to be heat resistant too. These Birdrock Home mitts check all the boxes. I am really impressed with them!I found them to be very flexible. Just like the seller's pic shows, I can easily close my fingers and thumb together, far more easily than I could with my old bulky BBQ gloves. I also found them flexible enough that I didn't have to insert my hands in the "pockets" - I could use them like an old fashioned pot-holder! Another benefit of the flexibility - they work well for hands of all sizes. My 11 year old son, who is learning to bake, tried these mitts out and loved them! My old BBQ gloves were just too big for him, but he used these mitts to easily pick up sheet pans and baking dishes.I found the grip to be excellent. I am able to pick up fairly slippery items, such as a non-stick bread loaf pan that was a real challenge with my old gloves. I love that I can drop these in the dishwasher when I don't feel like washing them by hand. They clean up very easily. The heat resistance is pretty good. In the attached picture I have our pizza steel, heated to almost 400 degrees F. With the Birdrock Home mitt, I could grip and lift the slippery steel. Holding the steel, I felt the heat coming through the mitt after about 4-5 seconds. At 7-8 seconds, it felt hot. At about 10 seconds, I had to let go of the steel and take the mitt off. I think that's long enough for most tasks where I'd need that heat resistance. I'd expect similar results if I were gripping a cast iron pan. When gripping baking dishes (ceramic or similar), it seems to take longer for the heat to come through. The hanging loop is a useful feature - I have the pair hanging close to my stove for easy access!I noticed a limitation. When gripping with these mitts, the sides of your hand(s) are exposed. I had to be careful using them with my grill at high heat, keeping my hands positioned so the open side wasn't directed towards the heat. Not too big a deal, but if there's splashing oil (like frying a turkey) or boiling water/steam, I might choose a full glove instead. With great flexibility, impressive grip, easy cleaning, and good heat resistance, I highly recommend these Birdrock Home mitts.

These are a great alternative to gloving up out on the grill when you’re moving large cuts of meat around. They are not thick enough for handling hot skillets/pans. But for their intended use they work great. Also good for those of us with big hands that don’t fit easily into regular mits or gloves.

These are pretty cool, my nephew ended up stealing mine. He loves to grill so, I don't mind. They work great for pulling things off of the grill when you're still cooking. Not only that, they work great for your indoor oven as well. When you're baking cookies and going in cycles, these are perfect. My nephew is 6'5" and 350 pounds so, as you can imagine, he has some pretty big mitts himself, these fit him no problem.

I have found myself using these on the griddle much more often than I anticipated. I thought I would just be using them for pulling large pieces of meat off the smoker, but they are pretty good on cast iron pans, and lifting other metal items up off the griddle to put into the sink. They are a good value for the money, they are easy to use, and they protect my hands from the heat. I just throw them in the dishwasher when I am done to clean them.

I grill often. This mitt is another option on those grilling days when I forget my gloves inside or outside, and need them in the other place. What I like most about this is that I can clean it by simply rinsing it under the sink with soap and water (same as washing hands) or just toss it in the dishwasher after a cook is over.It looks and performs as suggested.
