Mine arrived with no damage there are things that could be improved on this model but overall it’s the smartest buy right now it is a tough case and plastic lasts forever the two things that I like most about it is you can stack on top it and it’s got rubber feet the carpet one that I was looking at has 2 major flaws no feet and carpet if there’s a water leak in your home the water would soak up into the case very bad idea! ! I’m glad I went with this case instead without having to pay an outrageous amount of money to third party seller…

It fits 50 records (with outer sleeves) comfortably. Advertized to carry 70 12" records, but probably only true if you lose the outer cardboard sleeves and go with inner sleeves only.

These boxes are great, but as mentioned in other reviews, there are some aspects that seem hurried and sloppy. The GOOD:Their design is absolutely beautiful. I don't have any that look better, nor have I ever seen any. They're slightly over-sized and fit a 12" record with about an inch+ to spare on either side of the record. This would be great for any over-sized box sets, a-typical packaging, or even a headphone cable. The spring loaded handle is retractable and sits about half flush with the top of the flight case. This, in conjunction with the rubber feet, allows for the cases to be stack-able which could be useful for storage or height purposes. Also, the lid is detachable, and there's a ring for a small lock for security purposes. A common issue I find with vinyl flight cases is that the inner corners are rounded and end up creasing record sleeves, which is really irritating and just bad design and understanding of use. In these cases the corners are at a flat angle which is still not ideal but much better than rounded. The extra space inside largely alleviates this being an issue though I still put a single square piece of cardboard at the front and back of the case just in case. The cases do seem pretty sturdy and the side panels are some sort of heavy plastic. I wouldn't be comfortable actually shipping my records in this case, but for normal around town use, or flight carry on, they seem sturdy enough. If they were any more heavy duty, they'd be heavier and more bulky than I'd want. Records are heavy enough as is!The BAD:The inside is matted with a micro-fiber-like foam which seems to be applied fairly quickly and could have been thought out better or more time spent in it's application. All the corners on the outside of the box are rounded and look great, but on one of the two cases that shipped to me, one of the corners was impacted on delivery. I believe it came this way from the factory because the Odyssey packaging, in which the flight case shipped, was free of damage. This damage doesn't affect functionality, but is another sign of poor oversight in construction and quality control. The Powder coating at the site of the dent was intact.OVERALL:I like this series enough that I also bought the flight cases for my Pioneer XDJ MK2s. They really are just a beautiful design with the black powder coated style. The XDJ cases seemed to have better attention to detail with no manufacturer defects and also have the extra space for cables and such. I would say that for what these vinyl flight cases cost (I paid $59.99ea, MSRP is $69.99) I expect them to show up in flawless condition with a little more time spent in their construction (at least on par with the rest of the line). I think they probably knock these out pretty quick and turn a healthy profit on them. Having said all of that, I don't think there's a better case on the market. I'd suggest checking the entire box out when it arrives and send it back right away if you find anything you're uncomfortable with (like dented corners and such). These things look bad ass showing up at the club, and look lethally professional.

As per the other reviewers' comments, the foaming is somewhat thin, and wasn't lined into the case very well. Also, the hinges that connect the lid to case have weak bolts keeping them fastened into the body of the case. I had my case for about 2 years before the hinge popped off. The bolts can't be reinserted, since they were apparently hammered in. If you do buy this, I would avoid putting too many records into the case if you plan on carrying it around.

Exterior is beautiful, but this case doesn't seem solid. A nice decoration to sit near my stereo, but I wouldn't travel with it. Foam interior had bubbles/wrinkles. I was about to buy the matching 7" case too, but I may stay away from this line.

I had heard good things about Odyssey cases, so I was prepared to take a chance on this new item in the product line—so new that this is the first review! The outside seems well constructed, but I was disappointed by the interior. The foam lining seems very cheap—like thin sheets of foam from a craft store—and is cut irregularly and adhered to the case in a somewhat slipshod way (with uneven overlaps). There was also a great deal of what appeared to be overspray from the adhesive used to attach the foam—this looks very similar to something like 3M Super 77 spray. I am not familiar with any of Odyssey's other products, but, to be honest, I expected better quality given the amount I paid for this item.
