Yes, if you needed something to hold some pens and pencils on your desk, you could buy one of those plastic tubes. They get the job done, but they look just like plastic tubes. This adds a touch of class. And, it cost just a few dollars more. It's worth the additional expense.

We used one as a pencil/pen holder and like the shape and functionality so much we bought another and use that second in the living room as a holder for remotes for which it works every bit as well. It's a handsome piece that looks nice but also functional (and inexpensive). Recommended.

What else can I say other than it holds pencils and pens better than a tin can, or a cup. I feel good knowing that my pens and pencils will be able to make it each day without being laid on their side. It's hard for me to imagine a day when my pens and pencils don't find their way home to this. It truly elevated everything that I thought it could.

Cool looking pen holder, nice size and well built. It’s light weight and does exactly what you’d need it to do. The only complaint I have is that it was lighter in person than in the picture, however, still a good color.

I actually do love this thing. I have a lot of walnut going on in my life so I'm judgy AF about it and this holds up well for the price, if I remembered what that was. The shape and design are things I appreciate. There's really not much else I can say. It's definitely stationary, but also definitely not made for stationery.I just picked it up for the first time since I got it basically. Pretty sure it's 100% plastic, but it looks the part and hey, it's probably waterproof in case it ever rains on your desk.
