About this item

  • Touch-activated, tabletop burner, for ease of use^Flame adjustment dial, for precise control of flame length, width, and heat^Dual-use locking mechanism, locks flame on for continuous use, or off for safety^Piezoelectric ignition system, requires no electrical connection^1,472 to 2,372-degree F, flame range, for versatility

The Blazer GB4105 touch-activated, butane gas burner is a tabletop, refillable burner that creates a precise flame emitting from a nozzle head, allowing direct heat application to an object. It is commonly used for detailed purposes such as brazing, plumbing, soldering, heating, jewelry making, culinary, dental and lab applications, and work that requires a traditional Bunsen burner.

This tabletop burner has a touch-activated pad for ease of use. Rest your hand on the touch-sensitive pad to ignite the burner, and remove your hand to extinguish the flame and turn the unit off. It features a flame adjustment dial, for precise control of flame length, width, and heat, within its Fahrenheit range. It can be set from a yellow, soft, cooler flame (1,472 degrees F) to a more precise, hot, blue flame (2,370 degrees F). It has a dual-use locking mechanism that either locks the flame on for continuous use, or off for safety.

The burner houses a piezoelectric ignition system, which is based on a pressurized molecular reaction, and requires no electric connection. Piezoelectric energy occurs when the trigger is activated, releasing a small, spring-loaded internal hammer that strikes a crystal, producing a spark and resulting in gas flame ignition.

With a maximum flame temperature of 2,370 degrees F (1,300 degrees C), the burner has a continuous burn time of approximately 65 minutes (varies with flame temperature), and has a 10-gram gas capacity. It measures 5.6 (l) x 2.6 (w) x 5.5 (h) inches and weighs 11.2 ounces. This product is intended strictly for use in professional and industrial environments. In accordance with federal regulations, home use of this product is prohibited.

Since 1985, Blazer Products has created an array of professional and industrial tools and equipment. Located in Farmingdale, NY, the company manufactures a variety of torches and ultrasonic cleaners. Blazer Products is known worldwide for its original micro torch products.

The GB4105 burner comes with one AA battery and a drip tray, and operates with a standard butane canister (sold separately).

I had a very similar product but under the name zico that I purchased at a local store for $45 4 years ago. That torch still functions but it's falling apart so, I paid more than twice as much to replace it with this one (BLAZER practically identical in appearance), since my old one has been such a good torch (using a battery the igniter still works after all this time), however, this BLAZER torch I purchased expecting this one to be (at least) of equal quality and possibly even improved over the old one. I'm disappointed for a few reasons. I only gave this torch a two-star rating because (1) it's so expensive, (2) it is NOT WINDPROOF AT ALL (if I so much as let out a sigh while I'm looking at this thing just my exhaling we'll put the flame out so I have to reignite it a lot, the slightest movement of air will extinguish the flame), and (3) the air inlet adjuster which changes it back and forth from a blue "jet" like flame to a yellow "normal" type flame has far less range than my old one. The one improvement over my old one is that the adjuster has a handle for the air inlet whereas the old one only had a dial which was more of a hassle to use in my opinion. The lever makes it much easier, but the cons far outweigh the pros on this one. Still trying to decide whether to return it or not. Now, having said all of this (bare in mind I'm comparing this torch to the old similar torch I had before) so, anyone purchasing one of this type of torch for the first time may or, may not have any complaints. But that's my two cents for what it's worth. I would not recommend to a friend that they buy this torch at this price.I've included a couple of photos of my old torch so that you can see the similarities.

This torch REQUIRES you to buy the fuel from the same company that makes the torch. I bought the torch and the first good butane canister Amazon showed with good reviews - which was a big mistake, because "standard" canisters do not fit this torch. The Amazon page for this torch says "standard" canisters will work...they don't. But after you've spent your money and you receive this torch in the mail, when you read the manufacturer's paperwork you learn you must use a Blazer butane canister - false advertising.Dear Blazer management, you missed a golden opportunity. A tiny start butane canister would "cost" you pennies to include with this torch compared to the large price of the torch. That would have both given me "free" fuel and helped me understand the kind of fuel canister needed for this product. Instead, you told me to buy a "standard" canister, which does not work, so I wasted money and now am not sure whether to trust your statements about your products. If this product works, it is a fantastic idea. But misstatements in the marketing make it a dubious purchase.

I was using an alcohol torch and having to stop work to replace the wick or refill the alcohol. I would also forget that it was lit while I was doing other things and burn up the fuel wasting it. My boss used a propane torch but it takes up a lot of room and can light hair on fire! yikes! This touch activated burner is absolutely perfect! It's on when I need it to be & turns off automatically so no wasted fuel, no flame left on. I love it!

This is a useful item, except that for its price mine didn't last long enough, and I never got around to sending it back. Its electronic igniter quit working after about 6 months of moderate to heavy usage. It's easier to let it spark continuously while using it than not, the mechanical fuel valve and the switch that operates the igniter are actuated by the same pad, so after it lights you have to ease up on the pad a little. Some people in my shop had difficulty keeping the gas on but the igniter off at the same time. The only other problem was with the flame adjustment, we found that some settings prevented it from lighting, so we had to adjust it back to an almost blue flame to light it, and then dial it to the desired heat once lit. This rather defeated the instant-on-at-the-desired-heat-setting scenario we had envisioned.
