The Blazer SI-100 Excalibur, multi-purpose, butane torch and hot air soldering kit is a tool kit that provides tools for soldering, hot air blowing and torch flame needs. The torch creates a precise flame emitting from a nozzle head, allowing direct heat application to an object. It is commonly used for detailed purposes such as brazing, plumbing, soldering, heating, jewelry making, and culinary, dental, and lab applications. Tools within the kit are also used for electronic, automotive, woodworking, lapidary, and general maintenance.

The SI-100 is a multi-purpose tool kit, providing a self-igniting and cordless soldering iron, hot air blower and refillable butane gas torch. The set includes five, interchangeable tip choices: reflector, hot air blower, knife, one 3.5-millimeter chisel and one 3.0-millimeter diagonal. It also comes with a wrench, sponge, and one tube of 60/40 coiled silver tube of solder. The torch features a child-resistant mechanism, and an instant ignition switch.

The torch houses a piezoelectric ignition system, which is based on a pressurized molecular reaction, and requires no electric connection. Piezoelectric energy occurs when the trigger is activated, releasing a small, spring-loaded internal hammer that strikes a crystal, producing a spark and resulting in gas flame ignition.

With a maximum flame temperature of 2,500 degrees F, the torch has a 7.0-gram gas capacity, weighs 4.9 ounces and is 9.0 (l) inches. The case measures 10.25 (l) x 4.38 (w) x 1.5 (h) inches. This product is intended strictly for use in professional and industrial environments. In accordance with federal regulations, home use of this product is prohibited.

Since 1985, Blazer Products has created an array of professional and industrial tools and equipment. Located in Farmingdale, NY, the company manufactures a variety of torches and ultrasonic cleaners. Blazer Products is known worldwide for its original micro torch products.

The SI-100 kit comes in a hard shell carrying case, and the torch operates with a standard butane canister (sold separately).

It's a small torch that can be held like a pencil or a magic marker. And it's easier to manipulate.

Flame would not ignite. On/Off switch broke within an hour. When I contacted the vendor they said I would have to return it for "Repair" and it would take 3-4 weeks.

I agree with the other reviewers who describe this unit as difficult to use. I should not have to do an internet search to figure out how to use the thing. More importantly, it was simply dead within 45 days. The flame gradually grew weaker and weaker and finally died. (This was not a re-fueling issue; I never had any problems re-fueling it.) If you are looking for a butane torch, I would recommend just skipping this item and going directly to the Blazer GT8000 Big Shot Butane Torch, which so far has been reliable and easy to use.

DO NOT BUY THIS. I bought this mainly to use as a heat gun for heat shrink tubing on a rewiring job in my classic truck. Unlike others I figured out how to light it very easly. My problem is that when you fill it all the butane leaks right back out the fill port. It leaks so fast that I will shrink one piece of tubing and by the time I get the next connection crimped and am ready to heat shrink this torch will be out of butane already. It only takes a couple minutes to leak it all out. Now I'm rewiring a whole truck using a Bic lighter. Don't buy this piece of junk. This has been my worst Amazon purchase is years.

I almost didn't buy this powerful torch because so many people complained of difficulty in learning how to use it, and that it didn't come with an instruction manual. It does come with an operating instructions sheet that is fairly clear, IF you're good about reading instructions! I would highly recommend the Blazer torch because it is a quality tool and it gets the job done--plus, it is very affordable. I'm a silver/gold smith and use it for soldering. It is hot and quick.I didn't know "CR" on the product description meant, 'child resistant'. If I had known, I would have purchased the S1-100 instead. No problem though, I'm getting used to it!Some things to know if you're considering purchasing this torch:*Do not buy this torch if you are not experienced with torches. The end of the unit gets very hot and does not cool down quickly. (My old torch does). Using common sense will keep you from getting needlessly burned.*This torch has a child-resistant lock that can be tricky to facilitate, until you get the hang of it.*In order to ignite, you must:1. Set the Flame Lever Length to the middle (you can adjust as needed)1. Trip the RED child-resistant lever UP (this disengages the lock)2. Pull back on the Red lever (this ignites the fuel)3. Push the Gas Flow Knob to Lock (this keeps the flame on while in use)4. When flame appears, adjust with Flame Length Lever. That's all there is to it!And, if you want a little extra info before buying, check out this video: [...]

This torch has serious power, a very strong flame thrower and will get the job done. I would definitely recommend this product only to the person who knows what they're buying and who knows what they're doing. Make sure after each use, you use common sense and don't place this thing down just anywhere. This tool comes with little to no instructions and absolutely no safety warnings or tips. I know, this tool looks really cool and feels great in your hands when you're working but this thing can easily be forgotten that it gets extremely HOT! And this thing will burn your house down. No kidding! Four stars only because there's no stand or mount to place this tool on or in after immediate use for cool-down. Reason, I believe as it says on the box, "Not for home use" The manufacturer needs to realize "Do-It-yourselfers" need this tool as well as the professionals.

For years I have used and swore by another multi-purpose butane soldering torch by a different brand but ordered this mainly because of the reviews I read on it. Am AMAZED how well this product worked and if it continues doing the job of soldering that it's done for a few days now, I'll never go back to my brand- X. I LOVE THIS TORCH as it works flawlessly!

Great product! But the product operating instructions are poorly written. Think of it as an IQ test- If you can figure how to turn it on, you pass the test. Once you have figured that out, it's easy to use and a well designed product!

This feels really good in your hand. It is well made and easy to operate. This is not a toy that feels like it may fall apart on you at any minute, it will last. I had a Weller, and this one measures up to my old Weller easily. If you're looking for a nice little solder/torch rig, this one is for you. I'm a jewelry designer who like to work on circuitry, and this does either well.
